New Residents Mr. and Mrs.
Dale Vincent, formerly of Seat
tle, have established residence
at 504 North Grape street. Mr.
Vincent is a photogapher who
specializes in portraits and tech
nical illustrations. His work has
been published in national mag
azines, one titled "Booty" ap
pearing in the December issue
of Coronet. Mrs. Vincent is a
short story writer, her works
appearing in national maga
zines. To Hold Hearing A public
hearing will be held at 11 a.
m. February 10 in the Jackson
county courthouse on the appli
cation of Wann E. Nosier of
Sacramento, Cal., to acquire by
transfer a permit authorizing
operations as a contract motor
carrier of property in intrastate
commerce in Oregon, the state
public utilities commission an
nounced in a press release to
day. The permit sought, now
held by Clarence C. Cartwright,
Medford, authorizes contract
motor carrier transportation of
property within Klamath and
Jackson counties and from any
point in these counties to any
point in Oregon and from any
point in Oregon to any point
in the counties.

receiving medical treatment for
the past two and a half weeks
for pneumonia. Although im
proved, she is unable to have

spend the week-end with her
husband. Dr. Bunch, who is re
covering from an operation at
the Veterans' hospital. Dr.

J. C. Chamberlain of Ashland
drove cars involved in a slight
mishap at East Main street and
Mountain avenue in Ashland
yesterday, a report on file here
said today.

In Trailer Camp Mrs. Ed
Mather, Route 4, brought to the
Mail Tribune yesterday a clip
ping from the Evening News,
Vallejo, Cal., showing a picture
of a trailer camp at Benicia,
Cal., for employes of the Ben
icia arsenal. The picture also
showed an inside view of the
trailer of Mr. and Mrs. Mather's
daughter, Mrs. Joe Kolda, . the
former Fern Mather of Route 4.
In the picture, Mrs. Kolda was
holding her tiny dog, "Snooks."
Mrs. Kolda was graduated from
Medford high school and was
married last November. Her
husband is a checker at the
arsenal. The camp houses 50
trailers and 125 persons.

public utilities commission to
day announced in presa re

the public hearing on the ap
plication of J. Orbin Cooksey.

Valley View Drive. Mr. and
Mrs. Simpson will be joined in
early spring by Mr. Simpson's
mother, Mrs. Lombard Simpson,
of Tryon, N. C, who plans to
make her home here for the
duration of the war.
First Aid Class A first aid
class sponsored by American
Red Cross will begin Monday
at 7:30 p. m. in Roosevelt
school gymnasium with Dr. O.
J. Halboth as instructor. The
course is for parents of the
Roosevelt school district and
those interested are asked to
telephone Mrs. C. M. Starnes,
3650, or Miss Sara Van Meter
at the schoolhouse. Organiza
tion of an afternoon class is also
planned with further details to
be announced later.

by) Ettinger, son of Mr. and
Mrs. L. S. Ettinger of 824 West
12th street and a former Med
ford high school football and
basketball star, left by train
this week for the naval train
ing school at Sand Point near
Seattle to begin training as a
cadet Jn naval aviation. He
passed his physical examination
late in December. Robert's
brother, Ray, is a flier in the
navy and is now stationed in
Hawaii, his parents believe.
