Mrs. Wymore Is the former Marjorie Hon of this city. From School Jerry Taylor, student at the University of Ore gon, is spending Chris: mas hol idays at the home of his father, Leo L. Taylor of 10 Clark street. Taylor is taking advanced avia tion as part of his university course. SUU Safe Mr. and Mrs. D. D. Roberts, 32 Rose avenue, re ceived word again yesterday that their son, Lieut. Richard Roberts, was still safe in the Philippine Islands. Roberts is with the aviation arm of the navy. e e e ) Return Home Miss Ruth Fredrickson, 312 Pennsylvania avenue, and Miss Shirley Mae Brunn, 1012 East Main street, returned home this morning by motor after spending Christmas day In Roseburg visiting rela tives and friends. Roads Good Martin Palmer, Crater Lake national park me chanic was a Medford business visitor today. He reported that roads within the park were in good condition and roads on the outside of the park little slick. The latest measurement showed about 48 inches of snow in the park, he said, motorists were advised to carry tire chains. Haw Address The army today notified the Mail Tribune of the official addresses of a number of local boys who re . cently enlisted. They were Joe E. Earley, Jr., Harold Morse and Duane E. Estes, Air Corps Un assigned, Jefferson Barracks, Mo.; Edward T. Jones, C. A. C. Replacement Center, Camp Cal ls n, Cal., and Henry C. Betz. First Medical Regiment, Fort Ord, Cal. Remoeed Fred Smith, 77, of Copper, prospector who was found stricken with paralysis in his lonely cabin, by a neighbor last monday, has been removed to a Yreka, Cal., hosuital. The aged man is believed to have lain two days without food or care before he was discovered. Local hospital attendants said his condition was as good as could be expected Smtlh's only relative is a sister living in Los Angeles. Plan Passengers Leaving . last night by United Mainliner were C. H. Williams, to Vancou ver, B. C, H. Steele, to Seattle, and L. Glather and R. Fety to Portland. G. Peckham arrived from Portland last evening. Leaving yesterday afternoon were H. E. Waterbury. to Port land, and Miss Natalie Teng wald, to Boise, Ida. The early morning Mainliner today and last night's midnight plane pass ed over Medford because of un favorable weather conditions for landing here. e e e Back to Work Nine local youths left here by car last night to resume their work this morn ing in the Boeing aircraft plant at Seattle after spending Christ mas at home. They were Clvde and Delbert Troxell, Don and Walter Niedermeyer and Clay ton Yost of Medford, Reuel , Rians and Gordon Reed of Jack sonville, Stanley Jones of Cen tral Point and Alvin Perdue of Hornbrook, Cal. They 11 arrived here by car Wednesday. Promoted Rogue River na tional forest headquarters today received notice from the north west regional office in Portland of the promotion of two men, Fred Ames, and F. V. Horton, well known here. Mr. Ames was advanced from assistant to the chief of the division of timber management to assistant region al forester In charge of recrea tion and lands. This position has been held by Mr. Horton who was made chief of the division of operation to replace M L. Merrit, retired. Mr. Horton was range examiner on the Rogue River national forest in 1924 and Mr. Ames has been a per l iodic visitor in Southern Oregon. Agans, master, told the New Jersey State Grange that the horse is here to stay and that the tractor is a failure because "you can't turn a tractor out to graze in the pasture."
