lowed by a shower for Mrs.

Coy and children are planning
to leave Wednesday for the
north where they will spend
the holidays visiting friends and
relatives. They will be guests
of Mrs. McCoy's parents, Mr.
and Mrs. J.. H. Hay In Sllverton;
Mr. McCoy's mother, Mrs. Ethel
McCoy In Salem and Mrs. Mc
Coy's brother-in-law and sister,
Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Harris In
Eugene. They will also spend
several days in Portland.

Walter Gillette
Honored With
Yule Events
Walter S. Gillette was hon
ored yesterday at the home of
his parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W.
Gillette, SOS Union avenue,
when they entertained with a
Christmas dinner and farewell
party. Mr. Gillette is leaving
this evening for Everett, Wash.,
where he will be stationed with
the signal corps of the U. S.
army.
His parents held an early
Christmas in order that their
son might be present Also at
tending were Mr. and Mrs. Fred
Meadows and Mr. and Mrs.
Nahss and baby, brothers-in-law
and sisters of Mr. Gillette.
Mr. Gillette attended Antloch
school, was active in national
guard here and Just returned in
September from Gallups Island,
Boston, Mass., where he was in
maritime service.
