Blackout Hint Clarence
Crank, - 25 - Portland avenue,
suggested today the use of
showcard water paint on win
dows as a good blackout meas
ure. Mr. Crank explained that
dark colors in showcard paint,
If applied with several thick
nesses on the inside of windows,
were an effective means of as
suring blackout. The paint may
be washed off when it Is no
longer needed. He said, how
ever, not to use it on outside
of windows as contact with wa
ter removed its effectiveness.
Dawn Delayed Hugo Froh
reich, former Medford resident
row living at Grants Pass, re
ported in Grants Pass that hts
hens had trouble yesterday
finding their nests in the dark
and as a result their eggs were
scattered everywhere. His hens
are accustomed to waking up at
6 a. m. when the electric lights
are turned on but blackout
postponed their dawn and the
hens awoke in the dark. Be
tcause they couldn't find their
nests In the prolonged darkness
they scattered their eggs about
the poultry farm, Frohreich
said.
To Join Nary Ten men are
