Short Circuit The fire de- partment answered a ward 9 alarm at 11:40 a. m. today but there was no tire only a snort circuit in temporary wiring at a new dwelling being erected at Second and Oak streets. No da mage was done. ... On Duty George Webb re turned last evening by motor from Monterey, Cal., where he has been serving as station at tendant as a relief worker at the United Air Lines station. Mr. Webb resumed his duties ' as station attendant at the local United Air Lines office at Med ford municipal airport today. ... On Commit!. Maynard Wil son, former Medford resident, has been appointed a member of the grievance committee of the state bar for Klamath and Lake counties, according to word received here today Mr. Wilson has been practicing law In Klamath Falls for the past year. ... Doctors To Meet Jackson County Medical society will hold a dinner-meeting at 7 p.m. Saturday, December 13 in the Hotel Medford. Dr. A. A. Baum of Salem, state president, will address the meeting. The mem bers were asked to note a change In the usual meeting time of Wednesday to Saturday, the change having been made in order to have Dr. Baum pres ent. ... Homes, 62, Ashland and Walter P. Dunlap, 54, Courthouse, drove cars Involved in a slight collis ion yesterday afternoon on East Sixth street near Bartlett street. It was shown in a report on file today. Cars operated by Lois I. Pnyder, 506 Haven street, and Peter Toskan, 524 West Fourth street, collided last evening at North Central avenue and Fourth street, according to a re port on file today. Johnny D Q Harris, 17, Route 4, and Harry Lawrence, 17, 1422 Euclid ave nue, operated cars that collided this morning on Monroe street near South Oakdale avenue, ac cording to a filed report. Receires Award Mr. and Mrg. H. W. Gustin of Route 2 have received word that among 105 students their son, Stanley Turner Gustin, was cited by Phi Kappa Phi, national honor cry in scholarship on the Ore gon State college campus, as a recipient of an award for out standing work in his freshman year, 1940-41.
