Yule Party The annual Christ
mas party of Medford American
Legion post and auxiliary will
be held Wednesday night at the
armory. The affair will follow
the usual business meetings of
the two organizations which will
be called at 8 p. m. A novel
entertainment program Is being
planned for the party and each
member Is asked to bring an
Inexpensive gift for the Christ
mas tree. Refreshments will be
served by the auxllarly at the
close of the program.

wave radio. Snow was falling
at the time of the 8:49 a. m.

the time of the noon broadcast.

night was 28. The mercury
stood at 34 degrees yesterday
noon. The sky was partly over
east. Roads were slippery and
motorists were advised to have
chains In their cars In case they
were needed.

special ceremonies brought five
pouches of mall to Medford.
This plane, stopping at Salem
at 1:03 p. m. on signal, ordi
narily does not carry mall but
special permission was obtained
to move the mail on the inau
gural flight because of the
chance that the regular night
mall plane might not have been
able to stop on account of un
favorable weather. Most of the
first-flight mail was composed
of stamp collectors' Items Sev
eral stamp collectors here re
ceived mail on the first right.
The five pouches contained 114
pounds of mail. The mall was
stamped at Salem with a special
cachet.

H. McClure, a station attendant
for United Air Lines at Medford
municipal airport, returned yes
terday afternoon after spending
a week in San Francisco where
he attended a series of United
Air Lines meetings.

CCC's Leave Five tralnloads
of CCC enrol lees passed through
Medford yesterday morning at
11:15 o'clock en route to their
homes In the south where they
will be discharged. Among the
group were 33 enrollees from
this area who are returning to
Vicksburg, Miss, and Binning
ham, Ala.

McMlnnville, Dec. 8 IP) J
A. Glover. 71, Yamhill county
commissioner from 1923 to 1926,
was found dead at his home a
mile west of Whitson last night
from a shotgun wound In the
head.
The coroner's verdict was
suicide. Surviving Glover are
nis widow and three daughters.
