PAGE SEVEN LOCAL and PERSONAL Postponed Announcement was made today of the postpone ment of the Christian church district school for missionary women that had been scheduled for Friday here. Illness and flood waters that hampered travel from upstate were given as reasons for the postponement. Minor Accidents B e r e t h Pauline Hopkins of Route 2 and K. R. Llnder, no address given, drove cart involved In a slight accident on South Central avenue near Eighth street last evening, a report on file said today. E. R. Yocum of 416 Laurel street and F. J. Runtz of 1408 North Riverside avenue drove cars Involved In a slight mishap at Grape and Main streets yesterday morning, ac cording to a report on file today. Returns Mrs. H. J. Fleischer returned last night to her home in Central Point after attending funeral services for her mother, Mrs. E. A. Orr, in Seattle. Mrs. Fleischer went to Seattle by United Mainliner last Friday be cause of her mother's illness. Mrs. "Orr died Saturday morn ing, Mrs. Fleischer having ar rived in time to be at her side. Funeral services were held In Seattle Monday. The body was sent to Boise, Idaho, for inter ment. Mrs. Orr was a periodic visitor in Central Point. Trucks Collide Big trucks operated by Don Kirby of Talent and Louis Remirez of Turlock, Cal., were considerably dam aged when they collided head-on near the north city limits of Ashland yesterday morning. Remirez told Ashland investiga tors that his truck skidded when he applied the brakes on a hill, throwing the vehicle into the path of the Kirby truck which was traveling south. After the Impact the Remirez truck turn ed over on its side in a ditch Nobody was injured In the acci Plan Passengers Leaving by United Mainliner early this morning for Seattle were J. W. Newman and Miss Florence Green. Leaving on the forenoon plane were T. Scadden, to San Francisco, and Mr. and Mrs. E. Stanley, to Los Angeles. The night southbound Mainliner was held all night in Seattle because of unfavorable weather condi tions on the coast and passed over Medford this morning. All trips yesterday passed over Med ford because of storm conditions exceptipg the delayed forenoon southbound plane which arrived at 1:30 p. m. for fuel and mail. From Cold Hill Roy Camer on left this forenoon for his home in Gold Hill after spend ing the morning here on business. To Portland Mrs. Lester Young and her son, Donald, of Maple Park Drive, Box 399. will leave tonight for Portland where Donald will receive med ical attention. Back From Meet Dr. George C. Returns Robert Green re turned Monday night by United Mainliner after spending the past week in Red Bluff, Cal., on relief duty at the United Air Lines station. He is employed as a station attendant at the United Air Lines office at Med ford municipal airport. Return Home Mr. and Mrs. Phil Bralnerd returned to their home at 544 Pennsylvania avenue Monday night after at tending the Oregon-Oregon State game in Eugene Saturday and visiting with friends and rela tives in Salem and Portland Sunday and Monday. Visiting Mother George Vi las of Santa Maria, Calif., ar rived here by train to visit his mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Vilas, Route 3. Mr. Vilas was en route to Portland and planned to spend the day with his moth er. He is employed on canton ment work at Santa Maria. In Jail Richard Cornish, 40, Chiloquin, was being held in the county Jail here today on a federal charge of selling li quor to Indians. He was brought to the Jail from Klamath Falls by Paul Hanlin, U. S. deputy marshal. Cornish was ordered held in $2500 ball after a pre liminary hearing before U. S. Commissioner Bert C. Thomas in Klamath Falls. To Join Navy Three youths will leave by train tonight for Portland to undergo final medi cal examinations to qualify for enlistment in the U. S. navy, having been accepted tentative ly at the recruiting office In Medford federal building. They are Bert Fraser of Ashland, who wants to enlist for duration of the emergency, Donald Glenn, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Glenn of Central Point, and Henry Kil- bum, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kilburn, Sr., of Central Point, both of whom seek mln ority enlistments. Kilburn and Fraser recently completed slight ly more than a year's service with Company A, 186th infan try at Fort Lewi, Wash. Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Casey and fam ily and Mr. and Mrs. Lew Oeppert and family spent Thanksgiving in Medford with Mrs. Josephine Oeppert who ts Mr. Casey's grandmother, and Mrs. Oeppert 's mother. Mrs. Frank Dunlap and Mrs. Bob Lamb shopped In Medford Thursday. Ous Edmondson has been unable to work for the past day or two on ac count of the flu. Mrs. Jack Stowell. Miss June 8 tow ell and Mra.
