route. They will spend several
days at Chetco.
Visits Parents Marvin Burk
is spending several days at the
home of his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. F. F. Burk, 93 Rose avenue.
He has been stationed at Lowry
field, Denver, Colo., with the
feu. S. air corps. He will leave
next week by way of Denver
for New York City whence he
will sail the early part of De
cember for the Panama Canal
Zone. He has just completed
schooling as armament officer,
the position he will hold in
Panama.

from Sacramento and is in
Medford on business.

health officer, spoke this after
noon at the Medford high school
assembly In the educational
program launched by the an
nual Christmas seal sale Under
auspices of Miss Olive Curry,
Medford school nurse, the as
sembly was arranged. Dr. Mer
kel showed the film, "Another
to Conquer," which reveals the
spread of tuberculosis among
Indians and its cure as accom
plished through education, one
of the first purposes of the seal
sale.
Improved Fletcher Fish,
prominent Phoenix resident, was
reported today as improving
steadily In Community hospital
where he Is receiving treatment
for Injuries he suffered when
he was struck by a car as he
attempted to cross the road In
front of his home Thanksgiving
day. Yesterday 150 stitches were
removed from his left thigh
which had been badly lacerated.
Mr. Fish also suffered other
lacerations and abrasions and a
sprained right ankle and wrist.
Hospital attendants said that
complete rest and relaxation are
desirable for Mr. Fish.
