Her For Day Mr. and Mrs. Ray Ward of Klamath Falls, former Mtdford residents, spent Thanksgiving day with relatives here. They were accompanied by their small son Richard. Visits Mother Dolph Janes of Eugene arrived Friday evening by motorcar to spend the week end with his mother, Mrs. H. B. Janes, 1827 Capital avenue. Mr. Janes is employed at radio sta tion KORE at Eugene. Die In Oakland Charley Wright, an old-time resident of Central Point, died In Oakland. Cal., November 15. He was born in Jackson county March 4. 1883. Survivors are a daughter, Miss May Wright of Oakland, and three brothers, George, Joe and Will, all of Central Point. .Job Tests The U S. civil serv ice commission yesterday an nounced open competitive exam inations for the following posi tions: various grades of inspector of aeronautical engineering ma terials; mechanic learner; mar keting specialists; physiotherapy aides, with a revision in require ments as originally announced; and radio mechanic-technician. Complete information about these and other pending exami nations may be procured at Medford postoffice from Earl H. York, secretary of the local board of civil service examiners. Resumes Studies Stanley C. Jones, Jr.; was to leave today for Eugene to resume his studies at the University of Oregon after spending the Thanksgiving vacation with his parents at their home, 512 Pennsylvania avenue. To Portland Al Wimer, on of Mr. and Mrs. George Wimer, 410 North Ivy street, left Fri day for Portland to receive medical treatment for his hand which he injured late in the summer. He spent Thanksgiv ing with his parents and from Portland will return to Eugene ' where he is a student at the University of Oregon. Obyes Return Mr. and Mrs. H. C. Obye and their children. Johnny and Mary, returned to their home at 1122 East Main street Friday night after spend ' ing the Thanksgiving holiday season with relatives in Yamhill and Portland. Mr.- Obye will resume his duties as assistant supervisor of the Rogue River national forest tomorrow. Visitor Leaves L. C. Leach, of the state department of agri culture, left for his home in Corvallis Saturday after spend ing the Thanksgiving holiday here as guest of Charles W. Austin, city milk inspector. Mr. Leach, who has visited this ter ritory for 20 years in his official capacity, has much praise for the dairymen of this locality for their great improvement of dairy equipment and quality of product. h V3 H. (IP) James O'Neil, former CIO publicity director here, convicted recently of perjury, charged bit terly today that "the CIO has forgotten me" and has neglected to post bail so he might be re leased pending appeal of his case. He was convicted of perjury in connection with testimony at the second Harry Bridges' depor tation trial. The court has fixed his bail at $3.uuu but no one has ap peared to post bond and get him out of jail. New York. Nov. 22. (IP) Franklyn M.
