To Red Bluff Bob Green, 402 'i Newtown street, plans to leave by United Mainllner late tonight for Red Bluff. Cal., where he will act as relief man for United Air Lines at the Red Bluff airport for the next 10 days. Mr. Green Is a station attendant at Medford United Air Lines office. Returns Home Walter J Rein king, city policeman, returned to hit home at 28 Washington street yesterday morning from Port'and where he recently un derwent an operation at St. Vincent's hospital, He is getting along well and is expected to return to duty In the near future. Visits Alfred Anderson ar rived last night for a brief visit with his former associates of the California Oregon Power comoany by which he was em ployed here for three years. Mr. Anderson is now under going training in aviation sheet metal work at the U. S. naval air station at Sand Point. Se attle. In Jail Jack Egger, 22, and George Richardson, 19, both from Coalwood, West Va., were being held in the county Jail here today on a charge of trans porting a stolen car over a state border. They were brought here by Paul Hanlin, U. S. deputy marshal, after they had waived a preliminary hearing before U. S. Commissioner Bert C. Thomas in Klamath Falls. They were held for the grand jury under $2,000 bail each. They Are accused specifically of trans porting a stolen car from Coal wood to Klamath Falls. Aviation Cadets The follow ing youths were to report today to the U. S. naval reserve avia tion base at Seattle to begin flight training for the navy: Donaid R. Gillespie, 1315 East Main street, Donald C Stanley, Route 4. Box 2, Rolland N. Rinabarger, 841 East Ninth street, and Chester L. Robert son, Eagle Point. They will ipend about two months at the Seattle reserve base and then go to Corpus Christi, Texas, for four 6r five months of advanced training. If they complete the course successfully, they will be commissioned as ensigns In the nav-Bi reserve. All four youths made excellent records In civil ian pilot training courses at the Southern Oregon College of Ed ucation and at Medford munici pal airport under Thomas A. Culbertson. En route north Father Gardner was guest speaker at an Episcopal dinner in Roseburg Monday evening. He is pastor of St. Mark's here. ' Enlist In Army Three south ern Oregon men were formally enlisted in the regular army air corps in Portland November 18, Sgt. Joseph W. Cushman. com mander of the recruiting sta tion here was officially notified today. They were Monroe M. McGonagle, son of Mr and Mrs. William McGonagle of Route 2, John A. Bergstrom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles L. Bergstrom of Ashland and Harlan G. Cooke of G.endale. The three will be sent to the air corps recruit training station at Biloxi Miss., for tneir first 12 weeks of train ing after which they will be able to specialize in one of the many technical trades offered by the army air corps. Sgt Cushman said. McGonagle attended Med ford high school from 1936 to 1938. Bergstrom graduated from Ashland high school last spring, plans to become one of the new enlisted pilots the air corps is now training Plane Passengers R Byrd arrived from Portland by Unit ed Mainliner this forenoon. Leaving were H. G. Bandy and Mrs. W, F Phares and daughter, to Los Angeles, and William Frager and June Davis, to Reno, Nev. H. B. Fogerson arrived from Portland last midnight. The northbound plane last night was held at the Medford airport j because of fog at Portland. It ; lert at 9:12 a. m. today. Arriv ing yesterday afternoon were F. Morton, from San Francisco, and Mrs. S. Biorkqulst. from Oakland, Cal. F. Helfing left for Chicago. Arriving yesterday noon were W. Froleich. from Los Angeles, and Mrs. A. Clem ens and infant from Merida. Yucatan, via Los Angeles. James Morris- arrived from Seattle on the forenoon plane.
