Melvyn Douglas, Ruth Hussey and Ellen Drew come to the Craterian theatre today for a three - day showing of ."Our Wife," praised by preview audi ences as the "most exciting triangle that ever made a guy run around in circles." Douglas, the "guy" in the case, is seen as a brilliant musician who doesn't even know he is the main prize in a romantic contest between his co-stars. Miss Hussey, abandon ing her hitherto sedate and dig nified screen characterizations, appears as a coldly scientific young woman whose Interest in romance has been practically nil . . , until she falls in love! An amateur in the fine art of man hunting, she pits her brains against the more positive allure ments employed by the curva cious Miss Drew, only to learn with sudden and startling rapid ity it's not a woman's brains that cause a man to yell: "uncle!" Armed with this knowledge and awake to her own beauty, she does her best to adapt the techniques used against her by the wilier, wiser Miss Drew. The battle royal thereupon pre cipitated is said to provide the complications and the entertain ment which makes "Our Wife" the top fun show. A delightful flavor, new to the March of Time, is Injected . into 'Thumbs Up, Texas!" by the home-spun narrative of Cal Tinney, noted newspaper col umnist, radio artist and Okla homa wit who this month assists Westbrook Van Voorhis, March of Time's regular narrator. In one sequence, Cal Tinney tells briefly of the wonders of Texas with the boastful pride that is characteristic of the people of the Lone Star state. SHADY COVE SOLD Negotiations were completed yesterday for the sale of the Wil liam P. Haas property on Rogue river to Miles H. Williams, chief purchasing agent of the Fred Harvey system of the Santa Fe railroad ,and Mrs. Williams of Los Angeles, it was announced by Charles A. Wing, realtor who handled the transaction. The property comprises i8V4 acres on Crater Lake highway and the Rogue river opposite the Ginger Rogers estate near Shady Cove. There are two houses and other buildings on the property and there is an excellent fishing riffle in the river at that point. There is a 1000-foot river front age. A nephew of Mr. and Mrs. Williams is expected to arrive from Los Angeles Monday to take over custody of the proper ty and begin a program of gen eral improvement, Mr. Wing said. Mr. and Mrs. Williams plan to take up residence on the place in about a year, their plans in cluding a new dwelling, Mr. Wing related. Mr. Williams, who fished here a year ago, was attracted to the Rogue river valley by the con genial climate and excellent fish ing, Mr. Wing said. The underground movement which is the bane of the Gestapo officials has been woven into a deft background for a story that is surefire dra matic entertainment, well cast with talented players. Jeffrey Lynn has the role of an enthusiastic young soldier and in a featured role of a violinist who acts as an under ground agent is beautiful and talented Kaaren Verne. Among a list of important supporting players are Philip Dorn. who played prominent roles in "Es cape" and ' Ziegfeld Girl," and Mona Maris, dark-eyed charmer of "Flight From Destiny." Knights of Columbus Ask All to Pray For Peace Armistice Day Crater Lake council of the Knights of Columbus suggested yesterday that at noon on Ar mistice day every one pause for a minute in prayer for "a just and lasting peace. Persons of all faiths were asked to Join in this minute of silent prayer. This idea, the council spokes man said, was suggested by the plan of the city of St. Louis to halt all activity at noon Armis tice day for two minutes of prayer. In St. Louis the begin ning of the period of prayer will be signalized by the peal of church bells. All churches and synagogues will be open for the convenience of persons who wish to enter for prayer.
