The story of "Charley's Aunt"
Is almost too well known to
bear repetition. Benny portrays
the title role, that of a chap
who helps out two college pals
by masquerading as his friend's
aunt. While clothed as his aunt.
Oh chaperons two young ladies

marriage. How he and his
friends get out of their predica
ment makes for a hilarious
comedy climax.
Kay Francis is the real aunt
who turns up at the most in
opportune moment and James
Ellison is the nephew who
needs Benny's aid. Among
others In the cast are Edmund
Gwenn, Anne Baxter, Reginald
Owen, Arleen Whelan, Laird
Cregar and Ernest Cossart.
With reports of the record
breaking crowds that have at
tended the showing of the pic
ture elsewhere, the management
of the Craterian theatre ad
vises patrons to go early to
avoid the rush, to attend mat
inee showings if possible.

trade in the Pacific Northwest,
the picture has Franchot Tone,
Walter Brennan, John Carroll
and a lovely newcomer, Carol
Bruce, in the leading roles.
The f limitation of radio's'
most popular serial thriller,
"Mr. District Attorney", comes
to the Rialto Theatre for Tues
day and Wednesday with Dennis
O'Keefe in the title role and
with Florence Rice and Peter
Loire in supporting roles. Filled
with mystery, drama and sus
pense the new picture tells a
story of hunted men and their
women seeking refuge In the
dark streets of big city.

tured performers in the lilting
comedy-musical, "This Way
Please", showing today and
Monday at the Rialto threatre.
Several years ago, when the
picture was first shown here,
Ned Sparks and Buddy Rogers
were about the only ones who
were very well known. Fibber
McGee and Molly had Just start
ed getting popular with radio
fans; Betty Grable was known
only as one of the best looking
girls in Hollywood with a flair
for dancing; Mary Livingstone
was becoming popular on Jack
Benny's radio show. Now Fibber
McGee and Molly are among
radio's top favorites; Betty
Grable has become one of the
screen's most popular young
stars and Mary Livingstone has
grown in popularity as Benny's
show has moved to top position
on the air and Benny himself
has become one of the screen's
ranking favorites.
It was due to the cast, and
the snap with which they per
formed their parts in the show,
that resulted In the re-booking
of "This Way Please". To many
theatre fans, it will be a surprise
to think they missed the picture
when it was first shown here,
doubly so when they discover
the enjoyable entertainment
with which the picture is endowed.
