P The Chicago White Sox regained sole possession of third place in the American league standings to day by blasting the Detroit Tig ers, 10 to 6, evening the series at one victory apiece. The White Sox pushed over eight runs in the fourth, knock ing out Schoolboy Rowe and his successor, Dizzy Trout, before Bud Thomas stopped the assault. Sept. 27, Elmer Riddle snared his 19th victory of the season against four defeats here today as the Cincinnati Reds out-walloped the Pittsburgh Pirates, 15 to 9 but the sensational rookie wasn't around when the game ended. Riddle gave up three runs In the second inning but his team mates took him out of danger with a five run barrage that kayoed Johnny Gee in the fifth. VP) The Boston Braves ripped into rookie Al Feldman for four runs in the third inning today to beat the New York Giants, 5 to 4. A single by Paul Waner and a double by Eddie Miller gave Boston a run in the second and they got all the rest they need ed in the next frame when pitcher Manny Salvo singled, Gene Moore tripled, Buddy Has- sett beat out a bunt, Waner walked and Max West doubled. Sept. 27. &) Playing their first game as new Brooklyn Dodgers today drop- ped a 7 to 3 verdict to the last place Phillies. This held up until tomorrow's final game the Dodgers' ambi tion to become the first Brook lyn team in history to win 100 games. Manager Leo Durocher start ed his regulars, except for centerfielder Pete Reiser, who suffered a twitch in his right elbow throwing in practice be fore the game. Tillamook, Sept. 27 (Pi Fish landings soared and prospects were excellent for continued commercial fishing operations here today. Prices on all species of fish climbed. Ten cents a pound was paid for chlnook salmon, 8 cents for bay silvers and nine cents for troll silvers.
