Henry Akin thla morning looked over the site and draw Ings of the proposed Beagle- Antelope army cantonment with a view to the matter of trans porting supplies and equipment to the camp. Col. Akin was Interested In supply problems, for If the can tonment should be constructed one of his jobs would be the shipping of equipment and sup plies to the camp. A field ar tillery officer, he is plans and training officer, port of em' barkation, Fort Mason, Cal. His study here included rail and road transportation in this area. Col. Akin arrived by car last night from Marysville, Cal., and left after his study here for Corvallis. John J. Beeky, Salem, traffic engineer of the state highway department, conferred yesterday with Ben Trowbridge and W, Bernard Roberts regarding pres ent and anticipated parking problems, having in mind pos sible construction of the project ed cantonment. Mr. Trowbridge, chairman of the recently-ap-pnlnted parking committee of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, said today that the state highway department will soon send a traffic engineer to Medford to make a thorough study of the traffic problem and on the basis of this to submit recommendations. Mr. Roberts Is a member of the committee and the Medford Traffic Safety Council. AMERICAN BOY MAGAZINE PLANS RESUMPTION SOON Detroit, Sept. 1 9.
