Bus Change The Greyhound
bus depot here today announced

Rear Stairs Blaze
at Rooming House

The rear wooden staircase of
the Oregon Rooms over Pick's
hardware store. 223 West Main
street, was practically ruined by

evidently ignited a pasteboard
carton on top the trash burner,
the burning carton fell over on
top of other cartons stored near,
and all the cartons caught fire
and ignited the stairs, Mr. Ca
noose said.
The fire spread up the stair
way rapidly and smoke poured
into the rooming place, operated
by Mrs. Theresa Warner. The
property is owned bv W. V.
Thomas.
Mr. Canoose said he advised
moving the incinerator to a
safer place and putting a screen
top on it. He reported that
naroia Wilson, service manager
of the utility company, volun
teered to have the incinerator
"eliminated."
