OREGON, FRTDAY, SEPTEMBER 12, 1941 ' Society and Clubs by Betty Shoemahr Mrs. Dunbar To Be Honored During Tea Hour The Central Point and Gold Hill groups of the Jackson County Public Health associa tion will be Joint hostesses dur ing the tea hour Thursday after noon, Sept. 18, when the asso ciation entertains Mrs. Sadie Orr Dunbar, executive secretary of the Oregon Tuberculosis associa tion. The social period will fol low the regular meeting of the association, which will be ad dressed by Mrs. Dunbar, Mrs. J. C. S. Weills, association presi dent, reported yesterday. All In terested club women of the val ley are Invited to the meeting and to tea, Mrs. Weills ex plained. ; The meeting will open at 2 o'clock In the county court house auditorium, where ar rangements are being completed to care for a "larger than usual" crowd. 4 Mrs. Winne Leaves for McCargar Ranch Mrs. Nell Winne, 609 West 10th street, left today for Hol land, Ore., where she will visit her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. R. H. McCargar on their ranch. Yorks Return From Bay City Mr. and Mrs. Earl York re turned to their home 609 West 10th street Wednesday after spending the week in San Fran cisco where they were guests of Major and Mrs. H. J. Meiring. Major and Mrs. Meiring are former Medford residents, MaJ. Meiring having been district quartermaster of the CCC In Medford before being trans fcrred to the Presido. Ashland V.FW.Groups Elect District Head V.F.W. post and auxiliary at Ashland held a 7 p. m. dinner at the V.F.W. hall this week with visitors attending from this city. Klamath Falls and Iowa. During the business session Mrs. Ida Crandall was elected district president. Mrs. Floyd Crosslin received the "Poppy Citation" presented by Post Commander Charles Pratt for selling the most popples before Memorial day. A social hour followed group meetings. Mistletoe Camp Plans Activities At recent meeting of Mistle toe camp, R. N. A. plans were made tor camp activities during the month of October. October 2 will be the regular business meeting at 8 p. m. at K. of P. hall followed by a social meet ing October 16. At this time the losers In camp contest, the "Showers." will entertain the "Sunshines" and Ivy camp of Ashland. A Hallowe'en party will be held October 30, open ing with the penny dinner at 3:30 p. m. at the lodge hall. College Club To Mset At Community Clubhouse Members of the Rogue Valley College Women's club will meet at the Girls Community club house tomorrow at 2:30 p. m. rather than the home of Mrs. Porter J. Neff as previously an nounced officers stated today. Mrs. Leland Mentzer will give a review of the book, "Of Men and Women" by Pearl Buck. F. L. Club to Meet Tonight Members of the F.
