Rucker have moved from 520 South Central avenue to their new ranch home west of Talent. Their new address is route 2, box 171, Ashland. Minor Accident Gerald E. Marvin of Gold Hill and A. A. Meyer of 326 South Oakdale avenue drove cars involved in a slight mishap on the Pacific high way at Central Point yesterday afternoon, a report on file said today. Here To Confer Wesley Hayes, manager of the Klamath Falls district office of the bureau of old age and survivors Insur ance, social security board, fed eral security agency, is spending two days here to confer with in dividual persons who might be eligible for survivor's or retire ment insurance under the social security act and to talk with employers regarding payroll matters. He arrived from Klam ath Falls last night and planned to return tomorrow night. Conferring Here H. J. Mc Kay, field representative for the state unemployment compensa tion commission, will be in the Medford district for the re mainder of this week to confer with employers of four or more with regard to wage records and contributions. While here Mr. McKay is making headquarters at the state employment office, 43 North Fir street, where he will answer inquiries concerning changes in the law and regula tions. Plane Passengers Arriving by United Mainliner this forenoon from Portland were M. Korock and C. Johnson. J. Heizer ar rived early this morning from Sacramento. G. Kirkpatrick left for Portland on the same plane. Arriving last midnight from Portland were W. Briggs and W. Moe. Leaving were Mrs. Al Gilhousen. to Los Angeles, and R. Phair, to San Francisco. J. Isenberg arrived last night from Los Angeles. R. McDaniels de parted for Portland on the same plane. Mrs. H. Witham arrived from Portland late last evening, Departing 'or Los Angeles were F. Alley and Mrs. B. King. Leaving for Portland late yes terday afternoon were O. Keller and J. Winniger. Arriving on the noon plane yesterdav were Miss Helen Simpson, from Sac ramento, and D. Hassom, from Oakland, Calif. New Cafe Henry R. Byer applied at the city building in- spector i office yesterday for a I permit to construct drive-in ' j cafe at 1208 North Riverside ave- nue at a stated cost of $3,250. j Eugene Campbell applied for a permit to construct a new resi dence and private garage at 919 I Whitman avenue at a stated cost of $2,750. I Gasoline Fire The fire de partment's chemical crew was called at 9:38 this morning to j put out a gasoline blaza on the i wooden floor of the Abbey Motor company, 123 South Riverside avenue, but employe had the blaze out with extinguishers when the firemen arrived. The gasoline leaked from a tank and apparently was lighted by a spark from a welding operation, though the welding was being done at some distance, firemen said. There was no damage. ... On Visit Home Sgt. Grover C. Owen, retired, and Mrs. Owen are on a visit to the sergeant's old home town, Marriana, Ark., where they will visit Sgt. Owen's brothers and sisters. Mrs. Owen is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. C. Silliman of Phoe nix. She was reared and at tended school here. Sgt. and Mrs. Owen have purchased a home and small acreage on high way 99 twelve miles out of Ta coma, Wash., at Midway Station and they would appreciate a visit from Medfordites any time, Mr Silliman said. ... (Kap Kubli, former speaker of the house and well known Port land business man, arrived on the mornir.g train to spend sev eral weeks with friends and re latives in the Rogue valley while he has his fill of hunting and fishing.
