L. Damon of Portland. The service was read at 4 p. m. by the Rev. Herald G. Gard ner, rector of St Mark's, in the presence of friends and relatives of the couple. The church was decorated with cream, yellow and peach gladioli with lighted white tapers. Mrs. Eva Hazelrigg Marsh played traditional wedding music as the wedding party en tered the church George Mad dox sang "Because." The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white silk jersey wedding gown fashiohed with a train and tight fitting girdle and bodice with a yoke of Irish lace. Long sleeves were caught at the wrist with Irish lace, and she wore a finger tip veil with a halo of orange blos soms. A single strand of pearls worn by the bride were a gift of the bridegroom. Her bridal bou quet was . fashioned of white pompon chrysanthemums and baby breath. Miss Catherine Ford, maid of honor, wore a tea rose taffeta princess style gown with elbow length sleeves and a matching polk bonnet. Miss Catherine Smith of Portland was brides maid and wore an identical cos tume and also carried a bouquet or oronze chysanthemums. Lieut Gordon Scott of Fort Lewis, Wash., was best . man. Ushers were Bud Mercer of Portland and William Gilbert of Bend. A small, informal reception followed in the lounge of the Hotel Medford. The three-tiered wedding cake was cut first by the bride. Assisting about the lounge were Mrs. Wright So vllle, Mrs. Robert Riley of this city and Mrs. William Gilbert of Bend. The couple left on a wedding trip to the south and upon their return will make their home at Klamath Falls where Mr. Wood is employed with the army engi neers. For traveling Mrs. Wood chose a gold, suede jersey dress with brown accessories and a green orchid shoulder corsage. Mrs. Wood is a graduate of Medford high school and Ore gon State college where she was affiliated with Kappa Kappa Gamma social sorority. She has been employed in the office of Gov. Charles Sprague in the state capitol. Mr. Wood also attended Oregon State college. Among out-of-town guests at the wedding were members of the wedding party and Major and Mrs. S. L. Damon of Port land; Mrs. Gordon Scott of Fort Lewis, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Gandy of Tigard; Miss Jean Ingles of Cottage Grove; Miss Mary Louis Oliver of Salem, Roy Rickey of Portland. Turners Leave For Montana Mr. and Mrs. R. R. Turner ahd son Robert left Saturday for their home in Helena, Mont, after a short visit in this city where they attended the wed ding of their daughter Elsie Margaret Turner to Joseph Schaff Saturday morning. While here they were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Francis Walker, 1120 Reddy avenue. Robert who has composed several mu sic selections, appeared on a local radio program Saturday morning. Mr. Turner, construc tion engineer for NYA for the state of Montana, reported that they were pleased with southern Oregon and plan to return again in . the near future. Enroute home they planned to stop in Portland to visit Mr. Turner's brother, John Turner, a mem ber of the Portland police de partment Shower Honors Mrs. Bill Knips Mrs. Bill Knips was surprised Thursday afternoon when mem bers of her pinocle club honored her with a shower at the home of Mrs. Howard Pickering on the Jacksonville highway. Gifts were opened and dessert lunch eon served. High score wss held by Mrs. Jack Wood and Mrs. John Elson. Also attending were Mrs. Ray Palm, Mrs. W. J. Childreth, Mrs. Don McFadden, Mrs. Earl Brewold, Mrs. Roy Byrd, Mrs. Odd Hughes, Mrs. Louis Sauer, the honored guest and hostess. Spend Day la Roteburg Mr. and Mrs. L. C. Latham of Loring Court motored to Roteburg yesterday where they tpent the day visiting friends. The Lathams formerly resided in Roteburg. Salvation Army Entertains Post Crater Lake post 1833 and auxiliary. Veterans of Foreign Wars were guests of Adjutant and Mrs. Charles Cox of the Salvation Army Tuesday eve ning. Movies were shown of the children's summer camp at Lake o'Woods, Adjutant Cox explain ing the pictures and giving in teresting information about the camp and children. A social hour followed. The post recently gave a re conditioned school bus to the Salvation army so they could expand their work among the young people of the vicinity. Post members thank all who cooperated with the post in the project, officers stated today. Club Discusses Fall Activities Fall activities of the Medford Business and Professional Wom en's club were discussed when club members held a dinner meeting at the Hotel Holland Coffee shop Thursday evening. Helen Webb sang two selec tions accompanied by M y r 1 Dawes. Lunette Bussey report ed on the recent 4-H club fair held at the county courthouse auditorium. Dorothy Heckard was in charge of the program with Freda Gebers presiding during the business session. Navita Chapter, No. 93 To Hold Fall Meeting Fall round-up meeting of Ne vita chapter. No. 93, O.
