Mountain Lilies Blooming
On Road to Blue Rock and
Parker Meadows, Is Word
The following recreational
bulletin was Issued today by
headquarters of the Rogue River
national forest, department of
agriculture:
"All roads are now open. The
Ashland loop road Is dry, al
though there still remain a few
snowdrifts near It In the vicinity

plays. On the road from Butte
Falls to Blue Rock and on to
Parker Meadows, mountain lilies
are blooming profusely In the
heavy underbrush. From the

gorgeous view of many small

tain peaks and it is only a mile
' hike from there to Blue lake.

Lake Fishing Good

Lakes groups continue to yield
good catches; this week the most
successful lures have been
worms and blue upright flies.
In Rogue river and its tribu
taries above Union Creek, where

eggs are recommended; in the
middle fork of Kogue river,

small in weight; and below the

river. Smaller streams in the
vicinity of Butte creek and

Natural Bridge offer opportuni
ties for wading and sun bathing.

logs. The entire forest force has
been spending every effort to
find and suppress these fires.

as a handi-quart, was voted the

kitchen during 1941.
The bottle was selected for
this distinction because of the
fact it is one inch shorter than
the old stvle package, thus mak
ing it easier to fit into the mod
ern refrigerator. Although it Is

type container, it is designed of
Hnraslas. a recent discovery ot
American engineers, ana it is
actually tougher ana more aur
ahiA than thf older, heavier bot-
tlp. Fashioned of a tear-drop de-

it is easier to handle.
Accordine to Snider, the light
weight of the bottle will enable
his dairy to lower packaging
and delivery costs and thus aid
in maintaining the current low
milk prices.
Old Barn Burnt
Moro, Ore., July 18 (JP)
Oscar Ruggles' 142-foot hay barn
on the old Finnegan ranch was
destroyed in one of the eastern
Oregon grain fires this week.
The barn was built in 1885 by
Joe Sherar from timbers cut in
his own mill. Burned with it
