Has kins was in town from the Applegate today to attend the luncheon-meeting of Jackson county chapter, American Red Cross, in the Hotel Medford. New Command Leon C. Al mand, formerly company com' mander at Camp Hart Moun tain, which was disbanded July 10, reported at CCC headquar ters here today. Mr. Almand will take command of Camp Annie Spring, Crater Lake. To Bring Trucks Herbert W Henderson, civilian employe of the Medford CCC district quar termaster, and Enrollees Arnold v A. Word, Johnny H. West and Wilmar T. Glass departed this morning for Bend to take de livery of three reconditional motor vehicles and drive them back to Medford. The three trucks have been overhauled in the Bend CCC central repair chop. Plane Passengers C. E. John- eon and M. A. Marley left by United Mainllner this noon for Portland. Mrs. I. Ballard ar rived on the forenoon Mainliner from Pittsburgh, Pa., via Port land. A. Broad, Mrs. V. Show alter and Susan L. Showalter left early this morning for Port land. Departing on the midnight plane were R. Wilmot, to St, Louis via San Francisco, and Mrs. A. M. Crosby, staff writer of the West Coast Lumberman, Seattle, Wash., called yesterday at Rogue River national forest headquarters. He was here to gather material on an article about sawmills in southern Oregon. Mistake Made M. A. Puckett of Crescent City, Cal., told city police that somebody, appar ently by mistake, had placed a woman's black suit coat in his car while it was parked on Main street . near Lamport's Tuesday afternoon. Mr. Puckett turned the coat over to city police, from whom the owner may obtain it. Assigned Delmar F. The dinner was given by the 20th pursuit group, Hamilton field, San Rafael, Cal., now en camped on the Rogue river near here. Guests were Mayor H. S. Deuel, Glenn L. Jackson, presi dent of the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce, Brig.- Gen. William Ord Ryan, com manding officer of Hamilton field who arrived yesterday morning, and Col. William O. Butler, Riverside, Cal., chief of staff of the fourth air force. Others present were Col. Ira C. Eaker, commanding the 20th pursuit group, Ma. Jesse Auton, the groups executive officer, Capt. C. P. Lessig, group supply officer, Capt. Peter C. Ham mond, commanding headquar ters squadron, Capt. Barton C. Russell, commanding the 77th pursuit squadron, Lieut. Avelin P. Tacon, commanding the 55th pursuit squadron, and Lieut. James M. Ferguson, command ing the 79th pursuit squadron.
