Council Meeting The city council will hold its regular semi-monthly meeting at 7:30 tonight. The session will be held as usual in council cham bers on the top floor of city hall. Hoover home on Route 4 where they arrived Sunday to remain until completion of the harvest of the lotus seed crop. Tingle of 304 South Central avenue and Fred Spaur of 302 McAndrews road drove cars Involved in a slight mishap at North Front and Third streets last evening, a report on file said today. Clarence Tedrick of Route 4 and Thomas Williams of 116 Chestnut street drove cars involved in a slight mishap at Crater Lake highway and Jackson boulevard last evening, " according to a report on file today. To Conference Ma). Irvln A. Robinson, Medford CCC district commander, departed last night by train for San Francisco to attend a three-day conference of army officials, Washington representatives, and other CCC officials. The conference will be held at the Presidio of San Francisco on current CCC prob- V lems. Philo D. Smith, district executive officer, is in com mand of the Medford district during Robinson's absence. At Airport Arrivals yester day afternoon at Medford mu nicipal airport included Lieut. R. M. Lawrence, Oakland, Cal., to Fort Lewis, Wash., in a Douglas observation plane, with Prvt. L. A. Smart as a pas senger; and Capt. C. L. Hamil ton, from Hamilton field, San Rafael, Cal., and return in a Lockheed ' cargo plane. With Capt. Hamilton were Ma, L. L, Phillips, Capt. Ray Nelson, Tech nical Sgt. C. Kratzer and Staff Sgt. M. D. Curry. The 20th pur suit group of Hamilton field is camping on the Rogue river near here. , Move North Mr. and Mrs. T Mark L. McCoy of 111 Wash ington street left today to estab lish their home in the vicinity of Seattle, Wash. They planned to spend a week on the coast before proceeding to Seattle to visit their son-in-law and daugh ter, Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Dryer. Mr. and Mrs. McCoy have re sided here about 18 years, Mr. McCoy being employed most of that time by the Mail Tribune as a linotype operator. The Mc Coy residence here has been bought by Mr. and Mrs. Bob Gilstrap, 35 Geneva street. New Residence L. R. Schoet tler applied at the city building inspector's office yesterday for a permit to construct a new residence and private garage at 35' Berkeley Way at a stated cost of $6,000. Chester Woods applied for a permit to con struct a four-room residence at 127 Tripp street at a stated cost of $1,000. Mabel H. Wright of , 614 West 11th street applied for a permit to remodel at a stated cost of $500. H. L. Brown of 48 North Orange street applied for a permit to add to his garage at a stated cost of $250. Hamilton, clerk in the Medford CCC district educational advis er's office, is attending the Pa cific Coast International Asso ciation of Law Enforcement Officers' convention in Portland which opened yesterday. Mr. Hamilton was expected to re turn to Medford tonight. Girl Born Mr. and Mrs. Al bert Jones of 309 East Jackson boulevard received word today of the birth of a girl to Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Stewart of Van couver, Wash. Mrs. Stewart, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jones, was Ethel Jones before her marriage. Actor Here Leo Carrillo, Hollywood cinema star, stopped briefly at Medford municipal airport today while en route from Portland to California by United Mainliner. Carrillo had been attending the convention of law enforcement officers in Portland where he acted as master of ceremonies at sta dium shows and parade grand marshal. Camps Listed Available at Rogue River national forest headquarters in the federal building are copies of a mimeo graphed list of all improved camps in the national forests of Oregon. Copies may be pro cured without cost. Useful in formation is given, including the location of each camp, the improvements, nearest town, condition of the roads leading to the camp and special attrac tions. Also listed is a small number of hotel and resort ac commodations available in the national forests of Oregon. Home From Trip Mr. and Mrs. H. G. Wilson, 7 Chestnut street, have returned from a six weeks' motor trip to Chicago and other mid-western points. En route east they stopped to visit their son David Hilbert Wilson of St. Paul, Minn., who is an engineer for the Great Northern Iron Ore company, having been with the company for 21 years. They ran into beautiful summer weather, de void of any extreme heat, and many times, Mr. Wilson report ed, he found an overcoat com fortable. Plane Passengers H. Bunker arrived from San Francisco this noon by United Mainliner. Leav ing for Portland were C. E. Stewart and Mrs. F. Humphreys Arriving from Portland on the forenoon plane were Chauncey Florey, F. Taylor, W. Barnett, u. JS. Johnson. Dr. C. W. Lem- ery. B. Thumbler and B. Alex ander. Departing were Mr. and Mrs. E. Mattoon and Mr. and Mrs. S. Anderson, to Los An geles, and Mrs. T. Roscoe and S. Crow, to Oakland, Cal. Florey left for Portland on the early morning plane. Arriving from Portland last midnight were H. Bush and A. Morris. H. Devereaux left for Portland last night. Arriving on the eve ning plane were J. Callahan and C. Arveson, from Portland, and O. Horner, from Seattle. Departing were R. Buell and C. Coray. to San Francisco, and George Webb, to Oakland. E. "Cap" Malone, for mer city manager of Ashland and war-time commanding of ficer of the old First Company, Ashland national guard unit, died early Sunday at the Veter an's .hospital in Portland. He had been in poor health for a long time. He entered the World war as a captain and was later elevated to major. He was born May 6, 1883, at Wiota, Iowa, where he spent his early life. He resided in Medford before and after the war, and was employed as elec trical engineer by the California Oregon Power Co. In Ashland he supervised installation of the present city lighting system. He was a member of the Epis copal church, also Ashland B. P. O. E., the American Legion, and all Masonic orders in Ashland, being a past master of Siskiyou chapter Blue Lodge, a Royal Arch Mason, Knights Templar and Order of the Mystic Shrine. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Malone, who is a member of the well-known Pur keypile family of Central Point, two sons by a former marriaae. Lieutenant Duane Malone, of Honolulu, T. H and Clyde Ma lone, Jr., of Dunsmulr, Calif. Masonic funeral rites in charge of the Ashland Masons will be conducted from the Perl funeral home here Thursday at z p.m. and the American Legion will have charge of final grave side services.
