New Stamp First of the new airmail stamps will be placed on sale at Medford postoffice to morrow morning. It is the air mail stamp of the si-cent de nomination. Central panel con tains a picture of a transport plane. All airmail stamps are being re-designed and others will be issued in the near future. Camp Schedule Day camp on Bear creek will be held tomor row if the sun shines, counsel lors announced today. Weather permitting, the closing day will be held Friday as scheduled with a picnic dinner for parents. Otherwise the program will be held from 3 until S p. m. at the Lincoln school auditorium. . Visits Here Glennie Mae Early of Sheridan spent Mon day night at the home of Mrs. Rhea Hoover, 37 Tripp street. She was en route home after a trip to Flint, Mich., whence she drove back in a new car. She visited relatives in the central and middle western states. Among points of interest visited were Los Angeles, Boulder dam and Grand canyon. Miss Early resided here when she was a member of the faculty in the Medford public schools. Ex-Principal Her Paul E Baker, principal of Medford high school during World war dsys, called on a number of old friends here today. Accom panied by his father, A. F, Baker, Mr. Baker arrived by car from Klamath Falls where he had visited his son-in-law and daughter. Dr. and Mrs. G D. Massey, Jr. He was return ing to his home in Franklin where he operates a mercantile store and owns a filbert and walnut ranch. Mr. Baker and E. H. Hedrick, superintendent of city schools, were friends in the Monmouth normal school and the University of Oregon. Mr. Baker left Medford In June, 1919, and thereafter was en gaged in educational work In California for 14 years. He re turned to Oregon five years ago. Daughter Born Mr. and Mrs. Lee Leatham of Fresno, Cal., are parents of daughter born June 12, word was received here today. Mrs. Leatham, the form er Leneve Simpkins, Is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. C. R. Simpkins, who made their home in Medford for many years be fore moving to Cottage Grove. Here Overnight Mr. and Mn. Kenneth Pickens of Oakland, Cal., were overnight guests Mon day at the home of Mr. Picken's brother-in-law and sister and family. Mr. and Mrs. Elmo At terbury, 718 Alder street. Rose bcrough applied at the city building inspector's office yes terday for a permit to construct a three-room residence at 716 West Main street at a stated cost of $1,000. Sam D. Koehler of 610 King street applied for a permit to finish a three-room apartment on the second floor at a stated cost of $400. Plane Passengers W. Mars- den arrived from Seattle. Wash., by United Mainliner this fore noon. M. Ferer left for Oak land, Cal., on the same plane. Leaving early this morning were A. Hutchison, to Seattle, and A Lundberg, to Vancouver, B. C. Miss S. Ferris arrived from Portland on the midnight plane. C. H. Jonas departed for Oak land. H. Smith arrived from Seattle last evening. H. Ander son left for San Francisco. Ponds Visit Chaplain Clifton K Pond, now on active army dcty as a captain in the first cavalry division. Fort Bliss, Tex., and Mrs. Pond were visitors here today. Capt. Pond was chaplain of the Medford CCC district for 5V4 years before re porting for duty with the first cavalry division last October 14, Here for a couple of days on business and pleasure. Chaplain and Mrs. Pond arrived yester day. Mother 111 The Rev. Henry W. Anderson, until recently on duty here as a CCC chaplain, left by plane last night for San Francisco to be at the bedside of his mother, who was reported critically ill.
