Minor Accident Bob Kempke of Medford and R. W. Nichols of Central Point drove cars in volved In a minor mishap on the Pacific highway Just north of the city limits yesterday morn ing, a report on file said today. Joins Husband Mrs. W. L. Frey and daughter, Carol, ar rived here by train today to Join Mrs. Frey's husband for a vaca tion in southern Oregon. Mr. Frey travels for Proctor and Gamble company In this terri tory. Clear at Lake Clear weather prevailed today at Crater lake national park, it was reported by short wave radio. Snow on the ground was down to a depth of only 18 inches. The tempera ture ranged from a high of 52 decrees yesterday to a low of 32 this morning. Stops Hare Harry C. Munro. director of adult education for tho international council of re ligious education with head quarters in Chicago, stopped here today to visit Mr. and Mrs Charles G. Smith, 716 North Riverside avenue. Mr. Munro was enroute to Forest Grove by train. Mother Hera Mrs. Frank Merritt of Enumclaw, Wash., mother of Mrs. Paul Hanlin. is a guest of Mr. and Mrs. Hanlin at their home, 1016 East Jackson boulevard. Mrs. Merritt will re main here for about another week. She made the trip by train. Attend Graduation Mr. and Mrs. R. J. Rinabarger. and daughter Nancy, of 136 Van couver avenue, returned last night from Corvallis where they attended the baccalaureate and commencement exercises at Ore gon State college. Mrs. Rina- barger's son. Raymond R. Dough erty, received his diploma in technical forestry. Inspect C. Otto Lindh, In charge of fire control in the nortl.west region of the U. S. forest service, and Maurice L. Hedrow, fire chief on the Rogue river national forest, left this morning to spend three days on the forest inspecting areas where slashings may be accumulated r They were to make plans for fire control in these areas. Mr. Lindh arrived from his Portland headquarters last night by car. Murdock ana youufc son, Gary of Bremerton. Wash., arrived by motor Friday to visit at the home of Mr. Murdock's brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Moore, 31 Elm street. This is Mr. Murdock's first trip to Medford. He re cently moved to Bremerton from the middle west. New Rsidnc W. p. Tucker applied at the city building in spector's office yesterday for a permit to construct a new resi dence and private garage at 52 1 West 11th street at a stated cost of $3,000. A. J. Hanby of 435 North Holly street applied for a permit to reshingle his residence at a stated cost of $150. D. J. Clifford of 832 West 13th street applied for a permit to construct a sleeping porch at a stated cost of $50. At Lodg Mr. and Mr. Frank J. Ellis of Chicago and A. Mahony of Los Angeles were week-end guests at the Rogue River lodge near Trail. Mr. El lis Is associated with the P. K. Wrlgley company in Chicago and Mr. Mahony is with the Catalina Island company in Los Angeles. Mr. and Mrs. Ellis left for Portland from Trail and were then to go south by the Oregon coast highway before re turning to Chicago. This is their first trip to Oregon. Plan Passengers Arrivals cn the United Mainliner this noon were S. Carter from Los Angeles and Miss B. Traum from San Francisco. Leaving on the same plane for Portland were W. Han num and Eino Hcmmila. B. Shearer arrived from Seattle, Wash., on the forenoon plane and departing was R. Schuetz to Los Angeles. Midnight plane arrivals were C. Conway and E. MclV.indes, from Portland. Leav ing on the same plane was Mrs. V. Dietrich, to Los Angeles. R. Schuetz arrived from Portland on the flagstop Mainliner last evening. New Assistant Announce ment was made today of the ap pointment of Austin McReynolds as assistant district warden In the Jackson-Josephine county distric of the state forest depart ment. Mr. McReynolds, a gradu ate of the Oregon State college school of forestry, takes the place of Lee Port, Jr., who was promoted to district warden with headquarters in Prineville. Mr McRynolds worked in this dis trict last year as a crew fore man and the year before in the forest departments inspection service throughout the state District warden here is Dwight Fhipps. Visit Her Visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Cook of 630 Crater lake high way are their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Carlo Herrala who were graduated yesterday from Oregon State col lege. Mrs. Herrala received her degree in secretarial science and Mr. Herrala in mechanical engi neering. They will remain here a week before going to Portland where they will visit friends They plan to make their home in Seattle, Wash., where Mr. Herrala has accepted a position with the Boeing airplane com pany. Driver Tests Examination of persons seeking licenses or per mits to operate motor vehicles will be held here as usual batur- day A state examiner will be in council chambers on the top floor of city hall from 9 a. m to 5 p. m. and applicants are asked to report to him. Driver license renewals may now also be filed in council chambers where a cashier is on duty daily ... To Move Crater lake nation al park staff offices will be moved for the summer from the Medford federal building to the lake Saturday. J.
