Irene Dunne, Cary
Grant at Craterian
Irene Dunne and Cary Grant,
two of the screen's most popu
lar stars, are excitingly re
united in "Penny Serenade,"
which opened yesterday at the
Craterian theatre. Based upon
the McCall magazine novel of
a carefree, Irresponsible news
paperman and his wife, the film
is an absorbingly human story,
as heart-warming as life Itself.
Concerned with such delight
ful elements as the romance,
the honeymoon and early years
together of a man and woman,
"Penny Serenade" possesses a
ring of reality which makes it
everything that "grade A" en
tertainment ahould be. The
newspaperman's casual attitude
towards life, the demands of
his Job, the near-disaster which
ends their honeymoon, the in
fant they adopt and the small
country newspaper they attempt
to run all these and more pro
vide the dramatic and comedy
material for a vivid and mem'
orable motion picture.
