Medford automobile dealer, has received orders to return to active service with the 249th coast artillery, a na tional guard unit in which he is a major. Mr. Abbey will leave for Fort Stevens Monday. Recently Mr. Abbey sold the automobile firm which bears his name to Frank J. Cullen of Walla Walla.. Wash. The film traces the extraordinary career of a boxer, played by Arlen, from his accidental "discovery" to his sensational bout for the Bob Burns Scores Hit In Craterian Hillbilly Picture If you like the down-to-earth comedy of Bob Burns and the homespun philosophy of radio's Uncle Ezra, he of the powerful little five-watter down in Rose dale, and if you a little rowdy goings-on, such as you might find at a hillbilly hoe-down, and if your ear is tuned to good old fashioned mountain music, then by all means go over to the Craterian theatre and have yourself a grand time seeing "Comin' Round the Mountain," which plays through Saturday night. Of course there are others in the picture, and a right smart cast it Is too. There's Jerry (Yahoodi) Calonna. He's the dastardly villain who doesn't do right by Nell-Nell, being, in this case, Una Mcrkcl. Then there's Mayor Gildersleeve who is ordinarily heard heckling Fibber McGce on the air, along with Old Timer of the same program. And there's Mirandy and Slaphappy Granpappay and Jack Benny's Don Wilson, all of the airwaves, and a host of other top-notch movie comed ians. "Comin' Round the Moun tain" tells the story of the feud ing Blowers and Beagles, and of an itinerant salesman who happens to hear a jam session of the Blowers' "one family" orchestra consisting of bazookas, corn liquor jugs and fiddles. He contrives to find them a sponsor for a radio program to save the little five-watter from going off the air. Everything looks good until the winter truce is called off and the spring feudin' gets under way. Then follows a series of hilarious events leading up to the elec tion of jed (Bob Burns) Blower for mayor, and his marriage to Miss Merkel, an unusual event, by the way, performed without benefit of a shotgun.
