Healy of Camp Har rison Gulch, Calif., transacted official business at CCC district headquarters here today. He was accompanied to Medford by Mrs. Healy. Small Fire The crew of a Medford Corporation logging train discovered and extinguish ed a fire on the company's right-of-way 15 miles rast of Butte Falls yesterday afternoon. The blaze covered about 1200 square feet. Cause was not determined. Car Prowled Sandy Green of 70 J Park avenue reported to city police today that his au tomobile, parked on South Central avenue last night, was entered and a grey vest and several notebooks were stolen out of it. Minor Accident Reginald Parsons of Hillcrest Orchards and H. L. Foster of Route 4 drove cars involved in a slight mishap Rt East Main street and Crater Lake avenue Tuesday at temoon, according to report on file today. Back From Fir Charles Olts. He arrived this morning by train from Vancouver Bar racks, Wash., and was to leave at 5:40 p.m. by train for his home in San Francisco. Cut Front North James Merritt of Seattle arrived by train this morning for a fort night's visit with his brother-in- law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hanlin of 1016 East Jack son boulevard. Mr. Merritt is a Junior at the University of Washington where he is major ing in education in preparation for the teaching profession. Pastor Returns The Rev. Clarence W. Frost, pastor of the Apostolic Faith church, returned to his home at 901 North Cen tral avenue last night after at tending the annual Apostolic Faith camp in Portland. He was accompanied by Mrs. Frost and their daughters. Naomi and Opal. Services in the Apostolic Faith church here will be re sumed Sunday. Following delicious meal of cold meats, cheeses, potato chips, olives and pickles. N. B. Bender, brewmaster. explained to the gathering how the beer was made and of the difference be tween the brewery's two pro ducts, A-l and Old King Cole beer. S. A. Kroschel, president, also gave a short talk. Mr. Bender escorted the visi tors through the brewery, ex plaining the operation of all equipment and telling of the beer process. Entertainment during the lunch was furnished by a special accordion quartet. Among guests of the club were Don Bagley, Ivan Harring ton, H. Harrisburg, Pa., Aug. 21 UP) Betsy Ross, petite and 20, who wnts to establish the first alti tude record for light planes at 20,000 feet, waited today for the official result of her first at tempt and declared "if it isn't over 20.000, I'll try again." The 99-pound aviatrix, who has been flying only since June, 1939, circled her two-place cabin plane for three hours and eight minutes over the Harrisburg air port yesterday. It was the first time light planes officially have been rec ognized in an altitude flight by the National Aeronautics associ ation, said Russ Brinkley, NAA contest chairman. Recognized as the first of the screen's zanny com edies, "It Happened One Night' won all five of the major Acad emy Awards the first and only time one picture has ever been so honored. The closest runner up to that honor is "Gone With The Wind." The late Walter Connolly and Roscoe Karns head the support ing cast of the now-famous Ca pra comedy.
