One of the stated objectives is: 'To drive home to all intel ligent Dersons that the control of cancer is a personal matter I in that they must take the first I step toward this control by ask-1 ing the physician of their choice t for a periodic medical examina tion and advice regarding fur ther steps to be taken, if necessary." Plans for a sustained, energe tic educational campaign against cancer in Jackson coun ty were being carried forward today after the election of exec utives of a local division of the Women's Field Army of thel American Society for the Con trol of Cancer. At its second organization meeting, held Tuesday evening in the home of Mrs. Ralph U. Boutelle, of 21 Florence avenue, the Jackson county division elected Mrs. Boutelle chairman. Others elected were Mrs. L. E. Williams, vice chairman, Mrs. Robert Ingle of Ashland, secre tary, and Mrs. Russell D. Davis, publicity chairman. Advisory Board Named Appointed to an advisory board were Mrs. J. C. S. Weills, president of the Jackson Coun ty Public Health association, and Dr. Robert W. Sleeter, Dr. Harvey A. Woods, Ashland, and Dr. O. J. Halboth, chosen by the Jackson County Medical so ciety as its representatives. Others attending the meet ing Tuesday night were Mrs. T. E. Daniels, Mrs. Frances Cochran and Mrs. Margaret Henry. Jckson county division of the Women's Field Army is spon sored by the Jackson County Public Health association and the Jackson County Medical so ciety.
