Mr. Gentle, on a two weeks' leave, will snend several days in Medford and then go to Monmouth for a visit with his mother and father. Returns Home Dcloris Cobb returned to the home of her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. M. S. Cobb at 71S King street, yes terday from Sacred Heart hos pital. Miss Cobb had been con fined In the hospital for several weeks. She underwent an appendectomy. Newlyweds Return Mr. and Mrs. Duane Bergstrom returned to Medford Sundsy from a week's honeymoon at Seaside, Rockaway and Portland. They were married in Reno, Nev., August 3 and left immediately for the Oregon polntc by motor. Mr. Bergstrom is connected with district headquarters of the CCC in Medford. Attends Conference George H. Fields, Medford CCC district educational adviser, returned Sunday from Portland where he conferred with state officials of the WPA and attended a con ference of forestry officials at U. S. regional headquarters. Mr. Fields, making the trip by mo tor, called on the state superin tendent of public instruction at Salem. Recovering F r 1 e n d s here were informed today that Mrs Lester Wilson was recovering satisfactorily in a hospital at Astoria from a major operation she underwent about a week ago. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson have been residing in Gearhart since the close of the Prospect high school where Mr. Wilson was instructor and athletic director. Cause was attributed to the automatic flashing over of a switch on a line where men were working north of town. i LEGIONNAIRES TO MEET COMMANDER Oregon legionnaires will be afforded an opportunity of meeting their national comman der, Raymond J. Kelly when he pays his official visit to the Ore gon department Aug. 13-14. Commander Kelly is scheduled to arrive at Swan Island airport at 9:30 p. m.. August 13 from Minneapolis. He will be met by a delegation headed by Mayor Joseph K. Carson and Dept. Commander Niel R. Allen and escorted to the post clubrooms for a short informal reception. On Wednesday, Commander Kelly will visit the Veterans hospital in the morning and be the guest at a luncheon of the Eastside Commercial club. In the afternoon he will be taken to Timhcrline lodge and Bonne ville dam and on his return will suffer final initiation by the Grants Pass Cavemen.
