industry to Oregon meant much
to the farmers of eastern Ore
gon and, indirectly, as a mat
ter of fact, to all the people
living within the state?

ed, led all counties in the state
in population gains. Of
course, the coming of the beet
sugar industry to Malheur and
the development of the big irri

increased acreage and crops
that look as good or better than
those of 1939, approximately
five million dollars in new
wealth should result from this
Industry. This will benefit
thousands of farmers, field and
factory workers, livestock grow
ers, railroad and lime quarry
employes, bag makers, beet
seed producers and every tax
payer in the state. Oregonians
are showing their appreciation
of the new Industry by a steady
increased demand for this prod
uct of Oregon farms and fac
tory.
