The grass was ignited by burning trash, Chief Rov Elliott reported. No damage was done. To Klamath George E. Pat terson, navy recruiter here, left for Klamath Falls this morning to spend the day at the branch recruiting office which is open every Wednesday. Robinson from cap tain to major in the U. S. army infantry. Notice of the promo tion was received yesterday from the war department. Ma jor Robinson has been on CCC duty here for about a year. He is district executive officer. Tonsils Removed In the Os teopathic hospital yesterday was Miss Betty Fowler of Kings highway, who underwent a tonsillectomy. Also reported having their tonsils removed today were Kay Young, daugh ter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Young. Mary Anne Silva daughter of Mrs. Earl Silva of Grants Pnvc. and Miss Helen Powers of Portland avenue. Plane Passengers G. T. Scott arrived by United Mainliner this noon from Oakland, Cal., and P. Metscham left on the same plane for Portland. M. P. Griffiths arrived from Port land on the forenoon Mainliner. R. C. Woodruff and H. G Dow son arrived from Portland by Mainliner last midnight. R. W.
