Shane, Piluso opened up with a
series of sonnenberg's to take
the first fall in 13 minutes. The
match was completed six min
utes later.
In the middle event, Sgt. Bob
Kenaston used a Gold Hill swiv
el hold to win a fall from Cow
boy Dude Chick in 10 minutes,
but the Wyoming gladiator came
back to lariat-spin Kenaston in
to oblivion a short time later
Kenaston was unable to return
(or more.
Pete Belcastro copped the op
ener from Prince Selaki Mehali
kis by getting the lone fall of
the match in ll'i minutes. He
employed a body press, follow
ing eye-gouges, hair-pulls and
the usual Belcastro brand of
meanness.
In the. battle royal preceeding
the regular card. Bulldog Jack
son, the Portland tough guy,
was ganged by the six other
wrestlers and eliminated In
short order.

128 VIOLENT DEATHS

Although it was a "safe and
sane" fourth as far as fireworks
went, at least 128 persons met
violent deaths throughout the
country.
There were only two fire
works fatalities reported in an
Associated Press survey, one in
Colorado and one in Maine. At
a Fort Worth. Tex., fireworks
display a section of boardwalk
collapsed, plummeting 200 pers
ons IS feet, but none was killed;
40 were injured.
A year ago, according to the
National Safety Council, the
fireworks casualty list showed
13 deaths, 19 blinded in one or
both eyes, and 9,341 others in
lured. Automobile accidents account
ed for at least 63 deaths and
drowning for 33. The traffic toll

erage of 73 estimated by the Na
tional Safety council for a

Stayton, Ore., July 9
Mayor W. A. Weddle of Stayton
dropped dead at a family picnic
yesterday. He was 80 years old
and a native of Stayton.
