WILL BE ERECTED
FOR THIS REGION
Announcement ni made to
day of the acquisition of a piece
of property just north of town
for the erection of an office and
five-car garage to serve as head
quarters for the Medford ranger
district of the Oregon and Cali
fornia revested lands adminis
tration. The land was acquired from
the Medford Corporation through
the cooperation of James Owen,
company manager, the announce
ment said. It adjoins the new
state police headquarters on the
Pacific highway. With local ar
rangements for acquiring the
site completed, the O. & C. of
fice said official approval in
Washington, D. C, was expected
soon.
Plans for the office and garage
have been completed. Bids have
been prepared and distributed to
local concerns for the materials
to be used in the construction.
The bids are to be submitted to
the O. & C. administration, 410
Custom House, Portland, Ore.,
by 10:30 a. m., July 9. A copy
of each bid is posted in the local
O. St C. office in Medford city
hall.

concert violinist and teacher
and director of evening school
orchestra in Seattle. Mrs. Fitz
simons is second vice president
of the Womans Center club,
oldest federation club in Wash
ington state. They will leave
the first of next week for Pom
eroy, Wash., to spend the sum
mer. Ufa. Earl Pry and little daughter
from Trail Creek apent Wednesday
at her mother'a, Mrs. John Vincent,

Mrs. Eva Segeaaman end daughter
Mary left Tuesday for Eugene where
Mrs. segessman's enter. Mrs. Bell
Vausen Joined them for a trip to
their old home In Canada. En route
they will visit an aunt In Seattle,

brother In Calgary and on to Leroy,
Bask. They expect to be gone a

moves abroad.
Cains for favorites ranged
from fractions to 2 or more
points in the forenoon, but deal
ings were sluggish throughout.
Prices were cut in most cases at
the close. Transfers were around
450.000 shares.
Aircrafts, utilities, rails and
chemicals were in front the
greater part of the day.
