Hard ing returned by train this morn ing to his home at 828 Dakota street from Seattle, where he transacted business since last week. From Agency Visitors in Medford today were Mr. and Mrs. B. G. Courtright and Mrs. Conro Fiero of the Klamath In dian agency. Mr. Courtright is superintendent of the agency and Mrs. Fiero is hostess. Mrs. Fiero is the sister of Mrs. James Stevens of this city. The group transacted business during the day. In Riverside Weldon H.'Mc Bee, a lieutenant in Company A, 186th infantry of the .Oregon National Guard, and Mrs. McBee are now in Riverside, Cal., and will be home before June 10, it was stated in a message received today by Capt. Carl Y. Teng wald. Company A commander. Lieut. McBee spent several weeks in an infantry school at Fort Benning, Ga., and is now returning from there. He also took part in large scale maneu vers while at the southern mili tary post. Army Planes Here Three military planes stopped at Med ford municipal airport yesterday for refueling. Pilots were Maj. G. H. Gale, en route from Fort Lewis, Wash., to Oakland, Cal., in a Douglas observation plane; Lieut. S. L. Quick, Hamilton field, San Fafael, Cal., to Fort Lewis in a Northrop ' attack plane: and Maj. W. R. Pack of the Washington national guard, Redding Cal., to Spokane, Wash., in a Douglas observation plane. Gale and Quick remained here overnight and .continued their flights this morning. Roseborough, 27, of 604 Palm street was cited by state police yesterday to appear in justice of the peace court tomorrow morn ing charged with driving a car with improper lights. William R. Brown, 36. of Grants Pass was cited to appear this afternoon charged with driving a truck without clearance lights. Flag For Shelter An Ameri can flag six by ten feet was raised for the first time on a new 38-foot pole at the Southern Oregon Humane society shelter on Midway road yesterday morning. It was the first time the society had had a flag for its grounds. The flag was a gift from Mrs. Callie Palm, the pole from Mrs. H. D. McCaskey. U. S. government regulations regard ing use and display of the flag were given the society by Capt. Joseph W. Scobey, president ol Kogue River chapter of the Re serve Officers association. At Airport Silas King, for mer Medford resident now en gaged in selling airplanes and living in Portland, arrived at Medford municipal airport this morning in a Taylor Cub. He was to continue to Portland this afternoon. He arrived here yes terday from Portland en route to Klamath Falls. Frank Myers left this morning for Palo Alto, Cal., in a Porterfield plane. He arrived late yesterday from Kugene. Arnold Cassidy planned to leave this afternoon for Oak land, Cal., in a Stearman plane. He arrived yesterday from Ta coma, Wash. Fined $10 Lowell A. Dupray of 617 South Ivy street was fined $10 in city court this morning on a charge of violation of the basic traffic rule. City police said Dupray speeded on West Main street. George Barber of 26V4 Portland avenue, also charged with violation of the basic rule, was slated to appear this afternoon. Barber, police stated, drove at an excessive rate ot speed on East Jackson Boule vard yesterday. Frank W. Skin ner, 42, charged with drunken ness, was ordered to leave town iiiimediately or spend five days m city jail. He told the Judge he would leave. ' Plana Passenaers R. R. Rambo arrived from Oakland yesterday after noon on the regular Mainliner and E. G. Killigreen left on the same plane for Portland. Japanese Schools Closed in Brazil 'Sao Paulo, Brazil, May 31. (P) Sao Paulo state authorities today closed five Japanese schools and seized 1,000 books and other Japanese teaching equipment. The drive was part of a state wide campaign to curb viola tion of nationalizing teaching laws, and brought to 260 the total of foreign schools which have been closed by the state government. Kentucky Trembles Paducah, Ky., May 31 F) A severe earth shock was felt here at 1:02 p. m. today. The quake was felt as far as seven miles west. DANCE SAT. Lem ery plan to leave Saturday eve ning at 8:1S by United Mainliner for Havana, Cuba to attend a Rotary club international con vention. From the local airport the couple will travel to Los An geles where they will embark on an American Airways sleeper bound for Fort Worth, Texas. From the latter city, the Lem. crys will procede to Jackson, Miss., on the Delta line, and from there to New Orleans on the Southern Lines. Riding on a National Airlines plane to Jack sonville, Fla., from New Orleans they will fly to Miami on East ern Airlines and from there will go by Pan-American Clipper to Havana, arriving June 5. U.W The war department says that a new division of highly mobile infantry will be organized at once with headquarters at Fort Benning. Ga. The division will be known as the Fourth, and will be com manded by Brigadier-General Walter E. Prosser. General Prosser now is on duty with the infantry section of the Sixth division at Fort Warren, Wyo. He will leave at once fq Fort Benning.
