Mexico is prepared to defend
its neutrality. President Lazaro
Cardenas says that any element,
either internal or foreign,
which attempts to endanger
Mexico's position will be vigor
ously dealt with.
His statement coincides with
reports that increasing numbers
of Germans are arriving in
Mexico. The government is said
to be investigating possible
"fifth column" activity result
ing from the German influx.
