The fishing season at Dia
mond lake will open May 20
and the Diamond Lake Resort
will open the same day for the
summer season.
Prospects for good fishing on
the opening date appear favor
able, it was stated in a message
received today by the Jackson
County Chamber of Commerce
from George L. Howard, resort
manager. The customary resort
facilities will be available for
the opening of the fishing
season at the famous lake, Mr.
Howard said. Accommodations
and facilities will be available
for ' fishermen as well as other
recreationists and those who
seek only a quiet rest in a
serene atmosphere.
Roads to the lake are open
and in good condition.

Claims of the Anglo-California
bank against Herbert Fleish
hacker, its former president,
aggregating $2,629,000, were set
tled today for S825.000.
The. plan of settlement was
presented by Sterling Carr, re
ceiver for Fleishhacker. before
Burton J. Wyman, referee in
bankruptcy, and was approved.

1 tablespoon lemon Juice
4 teaspoon grated lemon rind
Beat yolks and add half sugar,
alt, juice nd berries. Cook in
double boiler until the mutur
thickens slightly about seven min
ute. Stir frequently. Add gelatin
which has soaked flv minute In
the cold water. Stir until it ha
dissolved. Cool until psrtly thick

Beat whites until stiff, add cream
of tartar and other -gar. Beat until
very creamy. Fold In ttie Juice and
rind. Blend into the gelatin mixture
