W) A blonde, Hungarian actress whose singing and dancing had fascin ated Budapest's cafe and theatre set, was killed early today in a ten-story drop from the hotel apartment of Baron Frederick von Oppenheim, wealthy Ger man. The dancer, Lola Laszlo, 21 step-daughter of a hungarian playwright, crashed to her death on the marquee of the Hotel Gladstone in the view of hori- ficd pedestrians along the 52nd street "Swing Lane. After first listing her death as due to a "fall or jump," po lice found a note in a woman s purse in the Baron's apartment Without revealing its text, they said part of it read: "I can't get along without you very well. Other parts of the note were written in German and Hungarian. The Baron, a friend of the girl's step-father, Aladar Laszlo, author of several comedies which were produced in Buda pest, accompanied detectives to the district attorney s office. Miss Laszlo's death occurred after a farewell party given by Baron von Oppenheim, who had planned to leave today for Ger many, by way of California and the Orient, to rejoin his wife and three children. publican opponent for Walter M.
