lated at about six months. Mrs
Hamilton will publish the News
during her husband s absence.
Promoted Promotion of Sgt.
William Prince to 'the rank of
staff sergeant, U. S. army air
corps, was announced today in
a press release from the com-
mandins officer of Hamilton
field. San Rafael. Ca., where
Prince is on duty with the 9th
bombardment squadron. Prince
is a brother 'of H. T. Prince,
for many years a resident of
Medford.

court this afternoon on a charge
of failure to stop at a highway

on a charge of driving a car
without an operator's license.

Have Baby Word was re
ceived in Medford today of the
birth of a boy to Mr. and Mrs.
Warren Hamlin, Saturday night
in Emanuel hospital, Portland.
The baby weighed eight pounds
and a quarter ounce. He is the
grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Sweeney of 1125 West Main
street. Mrs. Hamlin is the for
mer Kathryn Sweeney.

Mrs. A. D. Ackerman of Reno,
Nev., are recent arrivals in this
city and are staying at the
Hotel Holland. Mr. Ackerman
is route agent for the Railway
Express Agency and plans to

IN CRASH DEATH
A Jury award of $7500 in
favor of A. J. Ellenberger, ex
Ashland resident, as administra
tor of the estate of his son was
disclosed today following the
return of Attorneys Gus and
Don Newbury from Bend where
they conducted the damage suit
for the plaintiff in the De
schutes county circuit court last
week. The suit was directed
against ,L. A. W. Nixon and
number of timber companies
for whom Nixon worked.
A. J. Ellenberger was seri
ously injured and his son Sam
uel was killed near Bend in
September, 1938, when Nixon's
car ran into the truck and trail
er in which the Ellenberger
family was moving from Ash
land to eastern Oregon. New
bury & Newbury instituted
damage proceedings and last
May a jury brought in a verdict
of $12,000 in favor of A.
Ellenberger. Last week's suit
followed with A. J. Ellenberger
suing as administrator of his
son's estate.
PAIR IN MINOR CRASH

It was only a minor accident,
occurring on the Pacific high
way near Central Point late Sat
urday afternoon, but the drivers
of the two cars. Jack W. Ema-
hiser, 26. of Gold Hill and Ar
thur Lusk, 24. of Central Point,
:ot in trouble with the law be
cause neither, of them had an
onerator's license.
State police, investigating me
accident, cited Lusk to appear
in Gold Hill justice of the peace
court this afternoon, and tma-
hiser to appear In Medford Jus
tice court on December 18. Both
men were charged with driving
an automobile without an op
erator's license.
In other minor accidents over
the week-end, according to re
ports on file today, Lowell Du-

Ivy street drove cars colliding
at 12th and Ivy streets bun-
day afternoon; Mark Miller of
