Philadelphia, Dec. 5. (P)
Secret devlopments of a new
liquid-cooled, 42-cylinder motor
that may propel one of the
world's fastest planes was dis
closed today at the annual con

Dr. Alexander Kremln, pro
fessor of aeronautics at New
York university, said in a pre
pared report the motor was be
ing built by "one of the major
engine manufacturers," but be
cause of government secrecy
no details were available.
Aircraft authorities attending
the sessions said such a motor
should develop a speed of more
than 400 miles an hour and
would have enough power to
pull an airplane almost ver
tically after the take-off.
