Meet Delayed The Thursday evening session of the Fraternal Order of Eagles auxiliary has been cancelled because of Thanksgiving. Club to Meet Home Eco nomics club of the Central Point Grange will meet for dessert luncheon at 1 p. m. Wednesday at the home of Mrs. Eudora Bohnert. Returns Home Mrs. E. T. Burelson, owner of Burelson's Ladies' Ready-to-Wear store, re turned by train this morning from San Francisco where she spent several days on a com bined business and pleasure trip. She purchased new Christmas merchandise for her store. On Inspection Frank A. Kitt redge of San Francisco, regional director of the national park ser vice, was expected to arrive here this afternoon after making an inspection in Crater Lake na tional park in company with Thomas C. Parker, assistant sup erintendent of the park. On a tour of inspection, Mr. Klttredge is en route back to San Francisco from a trip that has taken him as far north as Seattle. He is to leave here for San Francisco by train tonight. Mr. Parker left here last evening to meet Mr. Kittredge at Chiloquin -. . Fire Damage Fire early this morning damaged a wall in the home of Mr. and Mrs. James E. Sowell, 604 Beatty street. The blaze was attributed by firemen to a defective stovepipe or chim ney which permitted flame to escape and ignite the studding. Firemen had to tear away some of the wall to get to the flames, The fire was discovered at 2:45 a. m. by Miss Ethel M. Sowell. who was awakened by flames licking out of the wall of her bedroom, firemen reported. Soot in the chimney and pipe ignited ' and burned itself out the pre vious night and the family then made a check of the equipment and thought everything was in good order, firemen related. The fire department answered a ward alarm. Back from Klamath John H. Lock painter and interior dec orator, has returned to Medford for the winter after residing in Klamath Falls since August 10. He makes his residence at the Hotel Holland. . New Garaga Harold W. Hub ler of 1406 Euclid avenue up plied at the city building in spector's office yesterday for a permit to construct a new pri vate garage at a stated cost of $100. Hera for Recital Mrs. Eileen Dick and Charlotte White of Rogue River were visitors Sun day to attend the harpist recital in the Guild hall. While here they were the guests of Mr. and Mrs. John Shelcy of the Central Point road. Minor Accident Roy Young of Medford and F. Voris of Jack sonville drove cars involved in a slight accident on Sixth street between Ivy and Holly streets Monday morning, according to a report on file today. Court Citation William C. Mclntyre, 48, of 814 East Ninth street was to appear in Jackson ville justice of the peace court today to answer a state police charge of being drunk on a pub lic highway. Mclntyre was ar rested last night by state police In his car on the Jacksonville highway. Fined $25 Pleading guilty to a charge of reckless driving, Horace F. Peck, 39, of Trail was fined $25 in city court yesterday afternoon. Peck drove a car which collided with a parked machine, then jumped the curb and struck the residence of Mrs Susan K. Eads, 29 Kenwood ave nue. Lowell V. Pratt, 21, charg ed with drunkenness, was re leased on $10 bail. Civil Strrlca Talis U. Robert Stack, the hand some young fellow to Deanna's left, is the lucky chap who gives Deanna her first movie kiss, while Lewis Howard is Stack's rival for Deanna's affections. Helen Parris, Eugene Pal- lette, June Storey, Beatrice Joy (remembered from the old sil ent days) and Marcia Mae Jones have featured roles in "First Love", which has Deanna sing ing four selections during the course of the film's showing. "Going Places" Plane Passengers Mr. and Mrs. George S. Hamilton, Grants Pass turkey ranchers, left by United Mainliner this forenoon for Los Angeles. Ed Hewes left by Mainliner early this morning for Seattle, Wash. M. K. Luh man arrived by Mainliner from Wenatchee, Wash., last midnight. A. B. Martin arrived from Se attle last evening and I. E. Kes- terson, Klamath Falls lumber man, left on the same plane for San Francisco. H. Martin ar rived from the south yesterday afternoon and F. Humphrey and Seely V. Hall departed on the same plane for Portland. Vic Vettle. United Air Lines radio technician,- arrived from Port land yesterday afternoon and leaving on the same plane were Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Hampsoa to Denver via Sacramento, Mrs, John N. Pincomb, to Oakland and Miss Lila Burkett, to Sacra mento. After fog over Portland and the San Francisco bay area had disrupted schedules for sev eral days, all planes since yes terda. afternoon have operated on time. Rialto Comedy of snow remained at road levels and the west, south and east entrance roads in the park were in good condition, the rangers said. Temperature range in the Dick Powell una Anita Louise head the large cast of "Going Places," which plays today and tomorrow only at the Roxy theatre. Only a few patches Dad Jones has never been so upside down, but all his head aches are hilarious in the Jones Family's latest comedy, "Too Busy To Work," which heads the double bill opening for to day and tomorrow only at the New Rialto theatre. Spring By ington and Jed Prouty are again seen as the genial heads of America's first fun family. Joan Davis is added to the cast in this episode as country cousin Lolly, a "screwball" cousin who moves in on the Joneses and takes over. "The Witness Vanishes, star ring Edmund Lowe, Wendy Bar rie and Forrester Harvey, plays as the second feature with "Too Busy To Work." The second film deals with a newspaper publisher who, railroaded to an insane asylum by his four bit terest enemies, gets free and deals out his revenge on the doomed four.
