Clean-up day at Logtown
cemetery near Ruch October 26
was well attended despite the
rain. Considerable progress was
made in clearing and burning
brush between the cemetery anil
the highway. Setting out of the
old-fashioned yellow rose bushes
was begun. Lilacs and other
shrubs were also set out. So
much remains to be done how
ever, that another work day has
been set for Thursday, Novem
ber 0, when it is planned to
work on the road and set up
ornamental gate posts at the
highway entrance.
Anyone interested is cordially
invited to attend and lend a
hand. Basket dinners will be en
joyed at noon.

reception in the form of a mas
querade party for the Gold Hill
school teachers and all connected
with the school, was held Friday,
in the I.O.O.F. hall, by five local
organizations: The Rebekah
Lodye, Odd Fellow Lodge, Gold
Hill Grange, Gold Hill Garden
club, and the W. R. C. Music for
dancing was furnished by the
Gold Hill Accordion Band and
several vocal numbers and stunts
were enjoyed. The hall was
beautifully decorated with au
tumn leaves and Hallowe en
decorations.
Mr. and Mrs. Curtis Parker at
tended the O.S.C.-W.S.C. foot
ball game, and visited friends
and relatives In Portland. They

during the night. He decided
to use his 10-day emergency
leave from the CCC at this

Sams Valley Grange held Its
regular session October 24 with
small attendance. Plans were
