Joe E. Brown and Manna Raye the possessors of the two largest mouths in the world are at last co-starred in a mo tion picture, and that picture opens a three day run today at the New Rialto Theatre. It is "$1,000 A Touchdown", the hi larious story of a college foot ball player and his over ambi tious "sweetie" who is afflicted Happy Memories of Old Movie Days'are Recalled by Drama A great human drama of to day that will stir all your hap piest memories of 1001 thrilling yesterdays is the production of Hollywood Cavalcade, wnicn came to the Craterian Theatre last night, starring Alice Faye and Don Ameche and photo graphed in glorious Technicolor. The romance of Hollywood from bathing beauties to world premieres staged anew, this magnificent picture tells in thrilling and highly entertain ing fashion the story of MiKe, a "prop boy consumea wnn the desire to make pictures, and Molly, who wanted only to be loved by Mike, but who was swept along to greatness on the screen. Those memorable Mack Sen nett bathing beauties stroll again beside Castle Rock on Santa Monica beach, but this time lovely Alice Faye is one of their number. Buster Keaton, Ben Turpin, Chester Conklin and those inimitable Keystone Cops cavort again in slapstick, custard-pie comedy. Al Jolson sings again "Kol Nidre," the song with which he electrified the world in "The Jazz Singer," the first ' talking picture ever made. And Ameche, as Direc tor Mike, recalls the great di rectors of a bygone day as he strides about his gigantic sets, in riding togs and puttees, car rying a huge megaphone with his name painted on it, directing a lavish Babylonian feast with hundreds of dress extras. Alice Faye is more beautiful and effective than ever in her Technicolor debut and also her first straight dramatic role as Molly, and Don Ameche is splen did as Mike, who forgot to tell her he loved her until it was too late. 1 Eugene Buys Site For Sewage Plant Eugene, Oct. 26.
