Another call was issued yes
terday for valley women to give
their time to sewing and cutting
of garments for war refugees.
The meetings are held each
Monday, Wednesday and Friday
from 9 a.m. to noon and from
1 to 5 p.m. at the Red Cross of
fice rooms in the Jackson coun
ty courthouse.
The sewing bees are being
held in conjunction with the re
cently organized war relief pro
duction committee of Jackson
County and it was pointed out
yesterday by committee chair
men that it is every woman's
obligation in the county to give
a portion of her time for such
a worthy cause.
Chairmen also explained that
women who wish to attend the
sewing sessions need not neces
sarily be expert sewers because
there are numerous small jobs
in stitching and cutting to be
done. Women planning to parti
cipate in the sewing are asked
to bring scissors and thimbles.
