October IS at the parish ball on North Oakdale avenue when St. Mark's Episcopal church altar guild will be hostesses for a benefit bridge luncheon. The affair will be one of three major events anticipated by the guUd for the winter months. Attractive prices are being arranged for door awards and contract and auction bridge. Mra. Evan Realties will give a short address as presentation Is made to the county court of the beautiful old magnolia tree that stands on the Jackson county court house grounds In a dedication cere mony Wednesday afternoon at 3:00 o'clock. Dedication ceremony Is sponsored by the Medford Garden club. The tree originally stood on the grounds of the E. B. Picket home on West Main street which Is the present alt of the Richfield service station. It was moved several years ago to the courthouse grounds and was l alven to the county by Mrs. Plckel " in memory of her husband, Dr. Plckel. the late Juvenile Club Enjoys Session Degree of Honor Juvenile club met for a regular session Saturday morn Irur. Carmen LaOrew. president, pre aided. Visitors enjoying the meeting were Oorllee Crawford, formerly of Klamath Palls, Lottie Hill and Tomas elne Swope. Plans were discussed to enter the Armistice Day parade and to have a Hallowe'en party soon. During the program Harriet Jones presented a reading, Shirley Pankey and Mary Ellen Loftier plnyert a piano duct and community singing was enjoyed after which refreshments were served. Louise Russell was given her sun shine service stripe and Mary Ellen Loftier was Initiated Into the club. WCTU Meeting On Thursday Women's Christian Temperance Union will convene Thursday after Boon at 3 o'clock at the- home of Mrs. Minnie Bryant. , 101 Cottage street. Devotlonals will be given by Mrs. Reginald Vincent, Miss Olive Curry will present a talk on health and Mra. Edwin O. Cox will give a solo. Refreshments will conclude the busi ness and sexual session. Medford Couple Married In Reno According to an associated press dl&patch from Reno. Nev.. yesterday. Miss Ilo Mornlngstar and Dale c. Hale, young1 Medford couple, were married Monday. The bride Is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Mornlngstar and the bridegroom Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hale. The couple are re cent graduates of the Medford high school and well known among the younger set here. They plan to make their home In Prospect, where Mr. Hale la employed. Miss Kirtley Is Zonta Delegate Miss Josephine Kirtley was chosen delcgnte to represent Medford Zonta club at a district conference to be held In Tacoma, Wash.. October 13 and 14. Parent attending this unique "Back to School" entertainment will be given a schedule of their chil dren's school classes and will follow It for brief periods throughout the evening.
