?AGE SEVEN ENROLLMENT SETS ALL IE RECORD IN STAIE SCHOOLS EUGENE. Oct. 7. ( AP) A new all-time peak for student enrollment In the tlx Institution! of the Oregon suit system of higher education is reported In a summary Just Issued from the office of the chancellor. Incomplete registration report for the fall term record a grand total of 0.210 students this year u com pared to 8.612 student on the same date last year, or an Increase of 7 per cant. Official records show that the com bined student bodies when fall term registration la complete will almost double the registration In 1933-1934 when only 5.227 students were regis tered at the six Institutions. The three colleges of education lead In percentage increase, with 216 per cent at the Eastern Oregon Col lege of Education, 119 per cent at the Oregon College of Education and 11.8 per cent at the Southern Oregon Col lege of Education. The University of Oregon has an 8J per cent Increase and the state college 5.4 per cent. At the medical school, where enrollment la restricted, a decrease of 2.8 per cent was reported. Although final fall term registra tion will not be available for some time because of delayed registration of graduate students, reports to date are as follows; Oregon state college, 4.384; University of Oregon, 3,342; Oregon College of Educatlou. 472; Medical school, 419; Eastern Oregon College of Education. 32 7; and South ern Oregon College of Education, 27S. Pickets, mostly Chinese, blocked longshoremen from the vessel for efght days after it attempted to load scraplron for Japan. The Waterfront Employers' associa tion filed suit for 931.862 damages and $5500 attorneys' fees from the Port of Astoria, members of the port commission and a group of Chinese It asserted were ringleaders in the picketing. Federal Judge James A. Fee ordered depositions taken from 22 Chinese and Astoria school records produced In court. Edgar Hoover, chief of the federal bureau of investigation, announced today his agents were Investigating reports of sabotage aboard the bat tleship Arizona, whose machinery and water tanks were rumored to have been damaged during gunnery practice off the southern California coast. The head of the FBI said that what happened aboard the Arizona "is one of those things I can't dls- i cuss." I Hoover was the first government I official to admit the rumors of sab otage were being Investigated.
