They expect to remain here until Friday and are staying at the Hotel Medford. Find Radio Device Elroy Johnson of Eagle Point yesterday received a letter from a friend. Walter Johnson of Wynndel, B. C, in which the letter described finding a U. 8. meteoro logical and weather bureau instru ment In the mountains of British Columbia while he and a partner were taking care of their trap line. Johnson wrote that they found a red silk parachute, and two broken balloons attached to the miniature radio transmitter, and that they had sent the device to Its manufacturer tn Baltimore, Maryland, to determine from whence It waa released. The device was found on September 1 four feet from a lake, Johnson said In his letter. Plane Arrival K. L. A department store clerk Is given her notice, befriends a baby on her lunch hour and Is re-employed when orphanage attendants convince her employer that poverty has Impelled her to abandon her child. Repeated denials of the alleged maternity bring only threats of persecution, so she accepts the situation and con cocts a story about a worthless hus band. Her boss' Interest ripens Into love, although he does not realize this last until his father, led to be lieve that the baby Is the grandson he has long wanted, commands the young man to marry the girl. A Joint Soviet-German commu nique was Issued declaring the inten tion of their armies was to help the Polish people "reconstruct conditions of their state existence." "These troops do not pursue any alms which are against the interests of Germany or the U-S.S.R. or against the spirit and letter of the Soviet German non-aggression pact," said the communique.
