Fines Levied Charged by state police with driving automobiles with no operator licenses. Charles D. Gere. 29, and Madison L. Stockton, 34. both of Medford, were fined $3 and $4.50 costs In Justice of the peace court this morning. Cited to ap pear on September 16, charged with operating a truck with a 2810-pound overload on one axle, was John B. Carter, 40. of Los Angeles. John D. Hamilton. 31. of Seattle was charged with operating a truck with a total overload of 933 pounds and cited to appear on September 18. Plane Passengers Miss Julie Car penter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. S. V. Carpenter of the Old Stage road, and her house guest of the past few days. Miss Shirley Uranby. left by United Malnllner this fore noon for San Francisco. The girls were returning to school. Leaving by United Malnllner this morning were A. Kamlnskl, to Portland, and O. Wilson, to Spokane, Wash., via Portland. Paul Morris, regional en gineer of the civil aeronautics author ity, arrived by Malnllner last mid night from Portland. Seely V. Hall, western division operations superin tendent of United Air Lines, arrived last evening from Portland and H. Westbrook left on the same plane for San Francisco. Mr. Hall and Mr. Morris left this morning for Klamath Falls, presumably to confer with city officials regarding airport facilities for the proposed United shuttle line between Medford and Klamath Falls. Mrs. George Hamilton of Grants Pass returned by Malnllner from Los An geles yesterday afternoon and Lowell E. Kern and Vlr Vettel. AL BRADSHAW IS Al Bradshaw of Medford, a passen ger In the car driven by his wife, suffered a cut on the head and a neck injury shortly before 11 a. m. today when the automobile struck a bad chuck hole on the Butte Falls highway about seven miles from the Crater Lake highway, crashed through a picket fence on the Merle Haynes place and overturned. Mrs. Bradshaw was uninjured. Mr. and Mrs. Slim Palmer of Butte Falls, passing motorists, took Mr. Bradshaw to a Medford physician to have his injuries treated. The Brad shaw machine, according to Mrs. Haynes. who witnessed the accident, was traveling toward Butte Falls. 4 Born today. Sept. 13, to Mr. and Mrs. Vernon N. (UP) Although Missouri Is regarded as one of the most prosperous agricultural states, almost 40 per cent of Its farms are operated by tenant farmers. John F. Tlmmons, assistant U. 8. agricultural economist, report. Tlmmons said that farm tenancy In the state had increased from 3341 per cent to 8S.8 per cent during the past 60 years.
