To Inspect Lieut. J. G. Goodwin,
navy recruiting officer In charge of
the Portland district, will make a
quarterly Inspection of the Medford
recruiting sub-station next Wednes
day. The sub-station, situated in the
Medford federal building, is In
charge of George E. Patterson, a
chief quartermaster.
Old Friends Meet E. L. Besondy,
U. B. forest ranger at Hayden. Colo.,
called this morning on Karl L.
Janouch, supervisor of the Rogue
River national forest. Mr. Beondv
and Mr. Janouch worked together
years ago on the White River national
forest In Colorado. Mr. Besondv m
on a vacation triD and nrriv hr
last night from Klamath Falls. He
was to go to crescent City and San
Francisco from here. He is accom
panied by his wife.

Court Citation Forest D. Linder-
man, 33, of Redding, Cal., was cited
by state police yesterday to appear
in Justice of the peace court herr on
December 34 and a charge of driving
an overloaded truck.

Meeting Cancelled Regular meet
ing of View Finders, scheduled for
tonight at the Jackson County Cham
ber of Commerce, has been cancelled
because of the holidays. Next meet

River resort at McLeod. left Tuesday
night for Los Angeles where they
will spend the winter season. Mr.
and Mrs. Jack Curry will operate the

Magicians Visit John Gads, Med
ford magician whose stage name Is
Cal von, Man of Mystery, and his as
sistant, Cecil Hanscam, visited in
Ashland Monday night with Emerick
Jones, who has Just returned to his
home from a tour of the coast. Jones
is billed as Emerico, Prince of Mys
tery. The two young magicians are
the founders of the Southern Oregon
Magic club.
New Park Snow Five inches of
snow fell during the night In Crater
Lake national park, bringing the
ground cover depth at headquarters
to 39 inches, rangers reported by ra
dio this morning. The snow had stop
ped falling at the time of the broad
cast, 8 a.m. Skiing conditions were
not improved materially as the new
snow was wet and heavy, the rangers
said. This morning the sky was ov-
ercast and visioiilty was poor, they
related. Plows were clearing the west
and south entrance roads.. The rang
ers advised use of tire chains for
safe travel.

stated today. Machine operated by

and Betty Fowler of Kings highway
were involved in a minor collision on
Oakdale avenue yesterday afternoon,
