Bounds, apprentice seaman of the
U. S. navy, as honor man of his com
pany at the naval training station In

of Mr. and Mrs. Benjamin P. Bounds
of Ashland. After being accepted
tentatively for navy enlistment at the
station here, he passed his final qual
ifying examinations and was enlisted

the cooperation of the automobile
dealers, attain are sponsoring the
auto show, displaying the 1939 mod
els at the Armory on Friday and

tion of the charitable work by the
Lions' club, who at the present are

Oregon Association of Hospitals urg
ed hospitals and relief organizations
today to create uniform rates In car
ing for Indigents.
Delegates reported county relief
groups paid, from $1.60 to $3.00 per

on the hospitals. Dr. Robert L. Ben

In the first 10 months of 1038,
these mutual, locally owned and
operated, thrift and home-financing
institutions, supervised by the Fed
eral Home Loan Bank board, reported
saving invested In them Increased
$1,348,510, the total savings entrusted
to their care as of November 1 being
5.728.570.
Such savings are fully protected
up to 5000 for each Investor by the
Federal Savings and Loan Insurance
corporation, a $116,000,000 federal
government agency.

meeting Friday night, December 9,
at K. P. hall In Medford.
This will be his last appearance
locally for some time as he has been
assigned to the Townsend lobby at
Washington, D, C, during next ses
sion of congress, and will leave soon
for the east.
