Campbell of the United States forest service will come here from his Portland office to con duct a board of review at 4ogue Hlver national forest headqiu-rters Thursday and Friday. The board will review all fires on the forest d-.iring the past season and analyze the measures taken for prevention and suppression. Purpose of the review is to reveal any deficiencies that might have occurred and to plan for the prevention and supervision of fires in tho future, it was explained by Karl L. Januoch. supervisor. Mich., asserting the union had violated It agreement with the carpomtlon by authorizing the walk out. Failure to obtain an early settle ment of the strike might cause 20,- 000 General Motors workers to be Idle next week. The cancellation demand was con tained in a telegram sent by C. E. Wilson, Qeneral Motors vice-presi dent, to Homer Martin, International president of the UAW. a few hours after Martin had announced the strike was "duly authorized" and de nied that It violated the UAW-GM aGreement. The United States Department of Labor announced at Washington that James F. Dewey, Its ace medi ator, had been sent to Michigan to sock a settlement of the dispute. A UAW sit-down- strike In the Nash-Kclvlnator Corp. plant at Kenosha, Wis., which closed other plants In Racine, Wis., and Milwau kee, apparently was settled during the day as the union repudiated the strike and voted to return to work Monday. The company agreed to re scind Its order discharging 300 men who participated In the demonstra tion upon the assurance of the UAW local that members responsible for the atrlko would be penalized. The sltdowncrs demanded an Increase In the piece-work rate. Striking workmen at the Chrysler CorporatUn plant at New Cnstle, Ind., will return to their Jobs Monday as the result of negotiations which ended when United Automobile Workers union leaders agreed to pre vent eviction of unaffiliated factory employes. Under the agreement 3600 employes will re-enter the plant, closed since Thursday after UAWA workers de nied admittance to the factory mem bers of the Die Sinkers union (AFL.) OF LONDON, Dec. 4. (Sunday) p) The Sunday Chronicle said today Br 1 tains rail, road and air transport services would be coordinated into one vast utility company. Sir John Relth, chairman of Im perial Airways, the newspaper said, would become head of the merger Involving a capital of 6, 2 SO ,000 .000. The Chronicle said one reason for the coordination was the govern ment's campaign to bolster national defense and that another was to eliminate price-cutting competition between railroad services.
