Still Snowing The ground cover of snow In Crater Lake national park attained a depth of 60 inches at park headquarters this morning, rangers reported by radio. It waa still snow ing In the park at the time of the 8 a.m. broadcast. Plows were keep ing park roads open but motorists were cautioned to use tire chains. Yesterday the temperature ranged from a maximum of 36 to a minimum of 36. Describes Trip A trip through Death Valley In southern California was described by Violet Wood at last night's semi-monthly meeting of the Southern Oregon Gem and Mineral society at the Jackson County Cham ber of Commerce. The speaker also displayed rock specimens she brought from the valley. William McClure gave a lecture on the lore of quarts The club voted to hold a field trip Sunday If it Is not raining or mow ing. If the weather Is clear the members will assemble at the chamber of commerce at 10 a. m. The trip will be made to Miller's creek. Each, member Is to bring his own lunch, the society furnishing coffee, sugar and cream. At the next meet ing on December 6 Dr. R. C. Van Valzah will give a lecure on quartz crystallizations.
